Chapter 77
“Let’s get the spicy shredded beef, too. It looks so good in the picture p>
Sophia didn’t even hesitate when she ordered. She didn’t care about the price either, even though that one plate cost one hundred and eight.
“Claire, do you want anything else p>
Claire added a soup and some veggies. “That’s enough. It’s just the two of us, anyway. We can’t finish much p>
Even with only four dishes, the total was close to three hundred. That’s what you got on the third floor-private kitchen prices.
But honestly, the chefs here were just as good as any fancy restaurant outside of school.
A lot of students recognized Claire, especially after yesterday’s livestream.
Someone with a big mouth walked by and couldn’t help but stir up trouble. “Claire, is
it true you took your grandma to the mall yesterday and the security guards kicked you guys out p>
Claire looked up and saw a guy who easily weighed two hundred pounds. She remembered hearing his family owned a bunch of hot pot restaurants, and business
was good.
No wonder he ate so well.
“I heard your family’s restaurants use gutter oil,” Claire shot back.
His face darkened. “What are you talking about p>
“Exactly. What are you talking about?” Claire gave him a half-smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes.
Did he really think he could embarrass her?
She’d already heard about the livestream drama, but she honestly couldn’t care less.
Besides, she wasn’t even the one who got thrown out at the end. And even if she had been, so what? She had nothing to be ashamed of.
“I’m not talking nonsense. I was just asking. Just looking out for my classmates,” he said, trying to sound innocent.
Claire let out a little laugh. “Oh, me too. Just asking, just concerned. How come your family’s restaurants use gutter oil and haven’t been shut down yet p>
His expression got even uglier. “That’s none of your business p>
Claire waved her hand. “Right, just like it’s none of your business.” He turned red, so mad he could barely get the words out. “You—” “Worry about yourself,” Claire interrupted.
He clenched his fists and tried to act tough. “Claire, you’re not the heiress of the James family anymore. What makes you think act all nigh you ca and mighty
Sophia, who’d been quiet until now, suddenly cracked her chopsticks in half and
slammed them on the table. “What, you want to fight p>
At that, the guy’s bravado
disappeared. He wasn’t afraid of
Claire, but Sophia was known to be a Wildcat. She’d gotten into mere than a few fights at school, and everyone remembered.
He definitely didn’t want to get beat up.
Still, he hadn’t given up on his real goal.
He gave Claire a gross look. “Claire, I’m just worried about you. Maybe you don’t know, but I’ve always liked you. If you want, I could give you a place to stay. And I could give you
two thousand a month for spenting:
money p>
That was it. Claire and Sophia stood up at the same time, one from each side, and punched him with perfect teamwork.
Both of his eyes swelled up right away.
“Yeah, right. In your dreams, you creep!” Sophia wasn’t done. She shoved him to
the ground and started raining punches down on him.
Claire just put one dainty foot on his big face, crouched down, and whispered, “What
did you just say? Say it again p>
He howled, “You bitch, I’ll kill you p>
No problem. He could get another round.
Cindy and Molly saw the whole thing.
Cindy rushed over. “Claire, how can you just start fighting p>
“You’re stepping on his face! Let him go p>
“Can’t you just talk things out p>
“Please, stop fighting p>
The guy heard Cindy’s voice and it was like his prayers had finally been answered.
