Chapter 726
“Once people find out, your safety won’t be guaranteed.”
“If the Syndicate target you, I might not be able to protect you.” Just like she hadn’t been able to protect Claire’s parents back then.
Pandora didn’t want to admit it was her failure.
“Claire, you should know that once you’re locked onto by the Syndicate, it’s very likely… Have you thought about the consequences?”
Claire understood Pandora’s hesitation and reluctance.
But she had her own plans. “I know it might expose me to certain people.”
“It’s been over a decade, and there’s been no word from my parents. Don’t you want to do something about it?”
“We could actually try putting ourselves out there. If it draws the enemy to us, we might be able to follow the trail.”
“Pandora, we can’t keep hiding forever. It’s time to make a move.”
“Aren’t you afraid?” Pandora knew Claire was right.
But she still worried. This was her only granddaughter.
“There’s nothing to be afraid of. If my parents are still alive and they know I’m in danger, they’ll definitely find a way to protect me.”
“And if they’re…” Claire trailed off, afraid Pandora wouldn’t be able to handle it. “Maybe those people stopped paying attention to us a long time ago.”
“Don’t forget, your talents are just as exceptional as your parents’.” Pandora understood what the young woman meant.
But compared to her son and daughter-in-law, she cared far more about her granddaughter right now.
After all, Claire was right here in front of her.
As for her son and his wife, it was hard to say if they were even still around.
“I do have a gift for math, but I’d have to actually start college and make a name for myself first.”
“Haven’t I already decided to study medicine?”
“What I’ll be learning has nothing to do with math. If someone really targets me, it
would only be because I achieved something incredible in the medical field.”
“For now, I shouldn’t be attracting the attention of multiple factions.”
Claire quickly convinced Pandora.

If they didn’t take action, she feared she would die before ever getting news of her
son and daughter-in-law.
That would be a lifelong regret.
“Don’t worry, Pandora. I’ll take good care of myself.”
“Besides, didn’t Edison find me two bodyguards?”
Claire comforted her.
Pandora gently ruffled her hair. “You knew about that?”
Hadn’t Edison said Claire disagreed with the idea, and that he had to hire the security detail in secret?
“I’ve always been observant. I can tell when someone’s tailing me.”
“But seeing as they didn’t have any malicious intent and were actually protecting me, figured Edison”. arranged i

Pandora nodded. “It’s good that you’re so vigilant. Edison was just worried Latham
might do something desperate.”
With The James Group in crisis, Latham’s family might try to target Claire, so they were just taking precautions.
“I know.” Claire tacitly accepted the bodyguards’ presence.
However, Pandora felt that if her granddaughter was going to expose her ties to the Churchill family, they needed to increase the number and skill level of her security team.
Just hiring retired special forces veterans wasn’t going to cut it.
They needed some true elites.
She thought of Dewitt.
That boy had been operating out of Kaston for years, and he had plenty of capable people working under him.
She would call him tomorrow and ask if Dewitt could send a few of his men back over.
The James Family never mistreated those who risked their lives for them.
Bringing them back stateside would basically be giving them a comfortable retirement.
The men over there were essentially mercenaries who had seen every dangerous situation imaginable.
