Chapter 850
If it had been him, he would have accepted in a heartbeat.
Only an idiot would turn down free money.
Besides, it was the ultimate chance to make a name for himself.
How could anyone just willingly pass that up?
Aside from the huge cash prize, this race was essentially a massive qualifier.
Soon, motorcycle fanatics from all over the country would converge in one spot for a massive championship. Word on the street was that this current prize pool was just an appetizer—the real feast was yet to come.
But only the absolute best, the first-place champions from every region, were allowed to enter.
Buzz had originally planned to use this race to skyrocket to fame, launch a live- stream, and rake in cash from an army of devoted fans.
Yet he couldn’t even beat a woman on the track. What kind of talent was that?
Now that the race was over, Buzz was so blindly furious that he rallied his crew to harass the two girls.
He probably wouldn’t actually do anything extreme, but terrifying them was enough to let out some of his pent-up rage.
“Your name is Mina, right? You’re pretty slick on that bike. Got a boyfriend?”
Buzz’s crew rolled up on five heavy motorcycles, boxing the girls in so tightly they had zero room to escape.
Mina hadn’t expected them to stoop to this level of petty harassment. If she had been on guard, they never would have cornered her so easily.
But it was too late for that now. These guys were just blockading them without making a move. Since they had just come from the illegal circuits at Ridgeview Pass, calling the cops wasn’t exactly a great option.
They were completely stuck between a rock and a hard place.
“No boyfriend. Were you planning on setting me up with someone?”
Panic began to claw at Mina’s chest. She was terrified these guys might cross a line, especially since they were still out in the sparsely populated suburbs, far from the safety of the city limits.
Outwardly, however, she remained ice-cold, even forcing a breezy tone.
The long-haired friend sitting behind her was visibly trembling, her fingers digging desperately into Mina’s jacket.
She wanted to pull out her phone and dial for help, but the predatory glares of the surrounding men paralyzed her.
Honestly, it was terrifying.
“Setting you up? What do you think about me?”
Buzz smugly pointed a thumb at his own chest.
Never mind his ridiculously atrocious haircut, his actual features weren’t doing him any favors either.
“I don’t think that’s going to work
out.” Mina scanned the blockade for an escape route while throwing a disdainful look at Buzz. “Have you looked at your height? If we stood next to each other, wouldn’t it just highlight how painfully short you are?”

Staring down a pathetic sore loser like him, Mina was in no mood to play nice.
Maybe this crew was all bark and no bite?
They lived in a civilized society; they couldn’t actually be dumb enough to pull anything crazy, right?
Considering they had just clashed up on the mountain today, if anything happened to her, the police would trace it straight back to them in a heartbeat.
“Are you calling me short?” Buzz’s eyes bulged with fury.
He genuinely wasn’t tall—barely pushing five foot six-while Mina stood at a sleek five foot nine.
In a contest of height, he lost horribly.
If there was one thing Buzz hated more than losing, it was being called short.
The lingering anger in his chest instantly detonated into pure, blinding rage.
“I’m not making fun of you. I’m just stating an objective fact.”
Mina’s long-haired friend actually came from a family with a decent amount of money and serious political influence.
Sneaking her hand into her pocket, she blindly dialed her older cousin’s number. She had no idea if the call connected but the sheet act making it bolstered her courage.
Her tongue turned out to be far more venomous than Mina’s. “What, are you completely blind to your own height? Do you seriously need someone to remind you?”
“Forget the fact that Mina doesn’t have a boyfriend. Even if she did and was looking for a side piece, you wouldn’t even make the cut!”
“Why don’t you take a good look in the mirror? With a face like that, you really have the nerve to think a toad like you could ever score a swan?”
It had to be said, this girl’s insults were absolutely lethal.
She was an absolute master at drawing enemy fire.
Buzz, who had only been furious at Mina seconds ago, instantly decided he wanted
to murder this long-haired brat even more!
Glaring at them both, he snarled, “You two really have no idea what kind of situation you’re in do you You actually think I won’t lay my hands on a woman?”
