Chapter 834
“She became utterly convinced that you were diagnosed with a terminal illness and had only weeks left to live. She thought you were sleeping early and booking vacations just to spend your final, tragic days with her.”
“You really need to clear the air, Caleb. The poor woman is probably going to suffer from a panic attack every time you cough.”
Caleb was utterly speechless. No wonder Ophelia had looked so unhinged this morning. She literally thought she was about to be a widow.
It seemed he really did need to fast-track that hospital exam just to prove he wasn’t secretly dying.
It was a hilarious blunder, but Claire brushed it off, ending the call with a quick goodbye.
Owen then gave Claire a grand tour of the R&D department, finally handing her a sleek jar of their finished product.
The cream was perfectly formulated according to her exact recipe, but since it was mass-produced by industrial machinery rather than handcrafted by her, the potency was inevitably diluted.
“I’ll take this back and test it out,” she mused.
Since her reputation was attached to the formula, she needed to know exactly how it performed in the real world.
Owen blinked. “Wait, do you even have any scars to test it on?”
How do you test a scar-removal cream on flawless skin?
Claire paused. Right. Because she always used her own premium handmade salves, she didn’t have a single blemish on her body, and she certainly hadn’t suffered any fresh injuries recently.
What, was she supposed to slice her own arm open just for a product test?
“Never mind. Just show me the clinical trial results. I can assess the efficacy purely through the data.”
“Done.” Owen led her over to the analytics dashboard, pulling up the digital profiles of every test subject.
After scanning the before-and-after metrics, Claire felt a wave of satisfaction regarding the mass-produced version.
Even with the slight drop in potency, this formula was more than enough to obliterate the scars of the average consumer.
“Oh, by the way, I handed off a sample jar to that A-list actor my mom manages.”
“You mean Oakley?” Claire frowned, thinking it was a waste. “Oakley already has a stash of my handcrafted ointment. This factory version is definitely going to feel like a downgrade to him.”
“I gave him the full disclaimer,” Owen shrugged. “He totally got it.”
Oakley had been eagerly waiting for the commercial launch, fully volunteering to be the face of their marketing campaign.
He had snagged ten jars of the beta samples, claiming he wanted to keep a few for himself and distribute the rest to his inner circle.
As fate would have it, the very first person Oakley gifted a jar to was Sienna Darwin.
He knew all about Sienna’s horringt accident, but since he had been bedridden recovering from his own brutal injuries at the time he hadnt been able to visit her in the ICU.
Once Sienna survived her grueling surgeries and transferred back to Cabinda to recover, he personally visited her apartment, bringing the miraculous scar cream as a get-well gift.

Sienna’s most devastating trauma was her shattered spine, but her body was still
littered with secondary lacerations and surgical scars.
The cream would undoubtedly work wonders on her skin.
When he handed over the jar, Karla suddenly remembered that Sienna’s flawless complexion was currently ruined by a map of jagged scars.
Both of them strongly urged Sienna to start applying the ointment, making sure to explicitly state that it was still an unreleased prototype in its beta phase.
When Oakley swore that a similar cream had miraculously erased his own facial scars and saved his acting career from absolute ruin, Sienna was skeptical but intrigued.
Ultimately, she knew Oakley had zero motive to sabotage her, and she trusted Karla with her life.
So, she slathered the cream onto her wounds without a second thought.
Of course, how much of that trust was simply the reckless apathy of a woman who felt her life was already destroyed was anyone’s guess.
Sienna was currently undergoing an intense physical therapy regimen designed by Claire, but the results were agonizingly slow.
Deep down, she was terrified she would never walk again.
Claire had constantly drilled into her that rehab required a fiercely positive mindset and relentless consistency and Sienna had forced herself to push through the agony.
She wasn’t afraid of the excruciating pain or the exhaustion. Her greatest nightmare
was enduring all this hell and still ending up paralyzed.
Suffocating beneath her unspoken panic, Sienna’s mental state was hanging by a thread.
Claire had definitely noticed the actress’s spiraling depression, but emotional coddling was arguably her weakest skillset!
