Chapter 802
“That isn’t a lot of money. She would have easily earned that in the next five years,” Karla interjected on Sienna’s behalf.
Of course, that figure was before taxes, and the actual amount reaching Sienna’s pockets wouldn’t be nearly as high.
But since Sienna had already set the price, Karla knew exactly how to make Tiffany back off.
Tiffany’s first reaction was pure disbelief. “How is that possible? Is it really that easy to make money in the entertainment industry?”
That was faster than robbing a bank!
“Why don’t you go ask Leon?”
“He isn’t even half as successful as Sienna, and he’s still raked in quite a bit since his debut, right?”
Karla was unwilling to waste any more breath on her foolish relative.
Tiffany didn’t want to talk to Karla anymore, either.
In her eyes, the woman was completely unreasonable.
She turned her attention straight back to Sienna.
“A billion dollars is way too much. Miss Darwin, I know you’re still angry, but what’s done is done, and Leon is willing to do whatever it takes to make amends.”
“Look, how about ten million? Will that work?”
“If you agree, I’ll go talk to the Byron family. The money will be wired to your account immediately.”
The gap between ten million and a billion was astronomical.
Watching from the sidelines, Claire had to bite her lip to keep from laughing.
Sienna and Karla were even less amused.
“Karla, please ask this woman to leave.” Sienna didn’t want to exchange another word with Tiffany.
She closed her eyes, entirely shutting down any room for negotiation.
In reality, the Byron family had only authorized an offer of five million dollars.
Tiffany had taken it upon herself to double it to ten.
And the result?
The girl wanted a billion!
Even if the Byron family had that kind of cash lying around, they would never hand it
over.
Was Leon even worth a billion dollars?
“Miss Darwin, please think carefully about my offer. I’ll take my leave for now.”
Tiffany knew stalling here was pointless. She had to go.
If she stayed any longer, Karla would probably toss family courtesy out the window and have security drag her out.
She had initially hoped Karla would put in a good word for her, but then it dawned on her—if Sienna
squeezed money out of Leomut of it would inevitably go to Karla.
Karla would undoubtedly want the Byron family to pay as much as possible.
It had to be said, Tiffany was truly measuring a saint by the standards of a sinner.
Karla saw right through Tiffany’s calculations and dismissed her without another word.
With the drama concluded, Claire headed to her lab.
She didn’t bother keeping tabs on how Tiffany continued to pester Karla to pressure Sienna into a settlement.
Padgett and his entourage had stayed in Apex long enough and were finally heading back to Cabinda.
Claire and Edison accompanied the group to the airport to see them off.
Padgett traveled via private jet.
Their passage through the VIP terminal was smooth and seamless.
Dane didn’t return to Cabinda with Padgett this time.
He had agreed to take over Latham’s Westside Heights Project.
However, the price he offered was a bitter pill for Latham and Frederic Byron to swallow.
It was drastically lower than what they had anticipated.
Yet, apart from Dane, there was absolutely no one else capable of producing that kind of capital upfront.
They couldn’t find a single willing buyer.

Latham couldn’t hold on any longer. After conferring with Frederic, he signed the Westside Heights Project over to Dane.
The news that Cabinda’s Vertex International had taken over the project swept through Apex like wildfire!
Every major media outlet scrambled to cover the story!
