Chapter 784
Every dollar the two sisters earned went straight toward paying his tuition.
He and Hunter Darwin were cut from the exact same cloth.
Having reaped all the rewards of his sisters’ sacrifices, he naturally agreed with the Darwins. Families were supposed to help each other, right? That way, he could be their rock in the future.
He thought he was just speaking the truth online and never expected the entire internet to rip him to shreds.
He still felt that netizens were just selfish jerks for attacking him.
Until his girlfriend, tipped off by a friend, tracked him down.
“Terrence Higgins, what exactly did you mean by this?”
Terrence hadn’t expected his girlfriend to discover his unhinged online rant.
Guilt flickered in his eyes. “I was just making a point! And I’m not wrong, families should help each other.”
“Her parents couldn’t afford it. Since Sienna made it big, isn’t it her duty to support her family?”
“Her parents brought her into this world and raised her. She owes them for that, doesn’t she?”
The more Terrence talked, the more convinced he became of his own
righteousness.
He spoke with increasing confidence, entirely missing the dark look settling over his girlfriend’s face.
“Didn’t you say you have two sisters who dropped out of school to work?” she asked, her expression unreadable.
Terrence didn’t try to hide it. “Yeah, they didn’t want to study anymore. They wanted to start working early. Plus, my family’s finances were tight, they couldn’t afford to send all three of us.”
“Did they really get worse grades than you?” She couldn’t bring herself to trust him anymore.
She had a sinking feeling he was leaving something out.
Terrence’s smile faltered for a second before he nodded. “Of course. I was always the smartest one in the family.”
The smartest one, yet he only barely scraped into a third-rate college?
His girlfriend clearly didn’t buy it.
She knew he was lying.
“Do they send their paychecks home now?” she suddenly asked.
“Duh. If they didn’t, how would I pay for my tuition and rent?” Terrence answered without a second thought.
That confirmed it. Her boyfriend was the exact same breed of entitled parasite as Hunter Darwin.
No wonder he was defending Hunter online and trashing her favorite actress.
“So, when we get married and buy a house, are they going to chip in for that too? What about a par? leeching off your sisters for that?”
His girlfriend fired off another question.
Terrence didn’t expect her to be thinking so far ahead. “You’re
never let you down.” Conte
already thinking about mama
“Don’t worry. We’ll save up for a few years, and with my parents and my two sisters each pitching in well definitely have enough for a down payment.”
And if that wasn’t enough, he could just marry his sisters off and use their wedding
gifts to buy his house.
“Basically, I’ll always take care of you, babe.”
His girlfriend felt physically sick hearing those words.
He had sucked his sisters dry just to go to school, and now he expected them to buy him a house?
How could anyone be this delusional?
“We’re done.”
His girlfriend cut straight to the chase.
Terrence was dumbfounded.
Weren’t they just talking about marriage?
Why was she suddenly dumping him?
“Wait, what do you mean? Are you screwing with me?”
“Terrence, you agree with the Darwins, right? Your sisters sacrificed their lives for
you, didn’t they?”
“I don’t date bloodsucking leeches. Sorry, our values don’t align.”
His girlfriend dumped him right there and stormed off.
