Chapter 789
Tiffany’s expression instantly stiffened.
Chasing celebrities?
Even if she were going to fangirl, it would be over a handsome guy like Oakley, not some young upstart like Sienna Darwin.
“If it’s not about celebrities, what else could you possibly want with Karla?” Without waiting for an answer, Padgett had already deduced the truth from her expression.
“Karla’s actress…”
Tiffany looked as if the words were physically painful to get out. “She had a bit of a misunderstanding with my nephew. I’m looking for Karla to see if she can help smooth things over.”
“Who is your nephew?” Ophelia asked, her curiosity piqued.
But Claire’s mind flashed like lightning to one specific name—Leon Byron!
The exact guy who had egged on Sienna Darwin’s cousin to harm her, and who was currently locked up in a detention center.
What a massive coincidence.
Was Tiffany seriously trying to get Sienna to let Leon off the hook?
No one would ever forgive someone who had almost gotten them killed.
Sienna was still at risk of permanent paralysis. She probably wanted to strangle Leon with her bare hands. How could she possibly let him go?
Tiffany was doomed to fail.
Setting Sienna’s attitude aside, there was no way Karla would ever agree to such an unreasonable demand.
“My nephew is Leon Byron,” Tiffany said with a strained laugh.
Ophelia hadn’t been keeping up with Karla’s work, so she couldn’t immediately grasp the grudge between Leon and Sienna.
She did have a vague impression of Leon, though. Tiffany used to brag to them about how handsome her nephew was and how he was bound to become a massive star in the entertainment industry.
Back then, Tiffany had tried to pressure Karla into signing him, but Karla had rejected the idea without a second thought.
Karla had claimed her roster was already full and she couldn’t take on anyone else.
But Ophelia knew the real reason Karla had refused to sign Leon was entirely because of his connection to Tiffany.
No matter how talented Leon might have been, Karla had zero interest in inviting trouble into her life.
Besides, if Leon were truly that exceptional, he wouldn’t still be a struggling nobody.
When Claire heard Tiffany say the name “Leon Byron” out loud, it confirmed everything she had suspected.
“Karla is at the hospital. She seems
completely swamped,” Ophelia
attempting to politely turn Tiff
down on karla’s behalf Content”
She correctly guessed that Karla would have absolutely zero patience to deal with Tiffany right now.
But Tiffany wasn’t going to be brushed off that easily.
Refusing to give up, she pressed, “Since Karla is at the hospital, I’ll just go find her there.”
“Yolande, come with me to the hospital first.”
“But since we aren’t familiar with Apex, we’ll need Claire to lead the way.”
Tiffany was trying to be clever.
She knew that if she went alone, she might not even get through the front door to see Karla.
Bringing her daughter and Claire along would change the dynamic entirely.
Karla used to adore Yolande, and she was incredibly fond of Claire now. She would have to give the two girls some face.
“Claire is keeping me company. If you want to go to the hospital, just grab a cab. Why bother Claire?”
Before Claire could even open her mouth, Padgett shut Tiffany down entirely.
“I just don’t know the area well. What if the cab driver rips me off…” Tiffany tried to argue her case.
But Padgett wasn’t going to give her an inch.
He was a man who could see right through her schemes in a heartbeat.

“You’re a grown woman. If you don’t even have that basic level of judgment, then you deserve to be ripped off.” Padgett completely shut., her down.
Tiffany choked on her words.
She knew she couldn’t win an argument against him.
He had never given her the slightest bit of respect anyway.
Left with no other option, Tiffany just had to swallow her pride and accept it. Leaving Yolande behind, she set off for the hospital alone.
Claire had already figured out
exactly what Tiffany was going to et
say to Karla, so she preemptively texted Karla a quick warning
