Chapter 797
With Claire on board, the performance went off without a hitch.
To be fair, the Darwin family’s blinding greed made it far too easy.
Beatrice managed to restrain herself for exactly one day before her impatience took
over.
She subtly tried to send away the assistant and nurse Karla had assigned, insisting that she could handle the night shift alone.
After quickly checking in with Karla, the assistant agreed to Beatrice’s request.
“That actually works out perfectly. I’m exhausted from looking after Sienna these past few days. I’d love to head back to the hotel and get some real sleep tonight.” Trixie feigned total gratitude, acting as if Beatrice was doing her a massive favor. Beatrice smiled warmly. “Then hurry back and rest.”
“She’s my own flesh and blood, of course I adore her. Don’t you worry, I won’t sleep a wink tonight. I’ll watch over her like a hawk.”
Trixie ran through a list of medical precautions, specifically emphasizing that the IV must not be removed and the oxygen supply could never be shut off.
Beatrice nodded enthusiastically, promising she wouldn’t make a single mistake, and Trixie pretended to buy it completely.
“Thanks for taking on the hard work tonight, Beatrice. I’ll be back to relieve you first thing in the morning.”
Beatrice waved her off dismissively. “Go get some rest.”
“Wait, actually, Beatrice… Karla mentioned there’s a document that needs to be dropped off on the third floor. My stomach is suddenly in knots. Would you mind running it down for me?”
Beatrice internally groaned.
She hated navigating the massive hospital and didn’t want to exert the effort.
But to ensure Trixie left without suspicion, she forced a smile and agreed.
“It gets pretty busy down there, so if the front desk is empty, just wait a few minutes.”
Clutching the paperwork, Beatrice walked out of the room.
Instead of heading straight for the third floor, she immediately dialed her husband’s number.
“I’m going to be alone with Zoe tonight!”
She felt like an absolute genius for finally securing the perfect opportunity.
But Thomas just cursed at her stupidity over the line.
“Are you out of your mind? You can’t be the only one in there!”
“If something happens to Zoe, you’ll be the prime suspect.”
“Use that thick skull of yours for once!”
Beatrice froze. She genuinely hadn’t thought of that.
She hurried back to find Trixie, only to remember the assistant was supposedly in the restroom. She had no choice but to deliver the document first.
What she didn’t realize was that from the moment she stepped into the hallway, every word of her phone call had been monitored.
Karla was tracking her every move.

Beatrice, keeping her waiting for a solid half-hour.
By the time she finally returned to the ward, Sienna had already been relocated to a
secure room.
The figure currently resting in the hospital bed was Claire.
Beatrice cared so little for her own daughter that she didn’t even notice the swap.
Plus, when she walked back in, Trixie was just emerging from the bathroom.
The young assistant had already received the updated plan from Karla.
“Trixie, sweetheart, it’s not that I’m backing out, but I’m suddenly feeling awfully sick too. I think whatever stomach bug you have, I’ve caught it.”
“I don’t think I can watch over Zoe all by myself tonight. I’m going to need you to stay.”
“Could you…” Beatrice trailed off, feigning helplessness.
Trixie knew exactly what she was playing at. Looking appropriately reluctant, she finally nodded.
“Alright. I guess I’ll stay the night.”
“But I really am feeling terrible. I’m going to lie down on the cot in the lounge for a bit. You keep watch for now.”
“Of course,” Beatrice agreed, far too quickly this time.
The moment Trixie retreated to the small cot in the adjoining living area to rest, Beatrice wasted no time. She viciously yanked out the oxygen tube and shut off the IV dap. .net
Clutching her stomach, she rushed out to wake the assistant.
“Trixie, you need to take over!”
“My stomach is killing me again.”
Trixie groggily sat up, giving Beatrice
a measured look. “Honestly, my stomach is in agony too, and I need the restroom Could you hold out just a little longer until get back
