Chapter 81
The homeroom teacher had a pretty good idea of what was going on. Claire wasn’t the heiress of the James family anymore, and a lot of people were ready to kick her while she was down. Jasper’s teacher couldn’t just automatically blame the girls, either. He knew Jasper wasn’t exactly innocent. For all he knew, Jasper might have said something completely out of line.
Soon, Adolph showed up, escorting Jasper into the office. When he spotted Claire and Sophia waiting there, he looked genuinely surprised. “Those two girls are something else,” he said.
The school nurse had already checked Jasper out. Most of his injuries were just scrapes and bruises. The only real damage was around his eyes, which looked pretty rough, but the nurse assured everyone it was nothing serious.
“You’re telling me two girls did all this?” she said in disbelief.
Adolph nodded. One of them was Sophia, who was pretty much famous for sending people to the nurse’s office. The other was supposedly some rich heiress. Even if that part wasn’t true anymore, everyone knew she used to act like a proper lady. No one had ever seen her get physical with anyone before.
“I know Sophia,” the nurse went on. “She’s a pro at fighting. She never aims for anywhere dangerous p>
“But that other girl… She was so precise. If I didn’t know better, I’d think she was a doctor. She knew exactly how to hit so it hurt, but without doing any real harm p>
The nurse pressed on a few of Jasper’s bruises, making him yelp loud enough for everyone to hear.
“These are pressure points,” she explained. “Hurts like crazy, but no real damage.” She gave Jasper a look. “Honestly, you’re a little out of shape p>
Jasper winced. “Can you just go easy on me, please p>
“I’m barely even touching you,” the nurse replied. “You’re a big guy, but you can’t even take a hit? And you’re getting into fights p>
Getting pinned down and beat up by two girls… That was humiliating, no matter how you looked at it.
Claire hadn’t expected the nurse to figure things out so quickly. But whatever, she wasn’t worried.
“So, since we didn’t actually hurt him, does that mean we don’t have to call our parents?” she asked, glancing at Jasper with a look that said she was already over all of this.
Jasper’s teacher fixed him with a stern glare. “You first. What happened p>
“I sent you to the cafeteria to eat. Not to get into a fight p>
“I didn’t even want to fight! They’re the ones who came after me!” Jasper protested, trying to sound innocent.
He had never been hit by a girl before, and these two hit harder than his dad ever did.
His teacher knew better, though. “If you didn’t do anything wrong, why did they go after only you? Why not anyone else p>
“How should I know?” Jasper mumbled, avoiding eye contact.
He definitely wasn’t about to confess what he’d done. But just because he stayed quiet didn’t mean Claire and Sophia would.
The girls told the whole story. They even acted it out, with Sophia pretending to be Jasper, repeating everything he said to Claires

protective of the girls, and he was honestly worried she might lose her temper and go after Jasper herself
“I I didn’t mean anything by it. It was just a joke,” Jasper stammered, looking for any way out.
Sophia wasn’t letting him off the hook. “He also called us bitches. Adolph heard him p>
That pushed Jasper’s teacher over the edge. “Jasper, I knew it. Your mouth is always getting you into trouble p>
“Don’t you have a mother? A grandmother? When you disrespect girls, you’re disrespecting them, too p>
He was so angry his hands were shaking. Claire even started to worry he might have a stroke right there in the office.
