The second Sophia’s mom heard the word “bitch,” she completely lost it.
“See? That brat hasn’t been taught a lesson yet! Listen to the garbage coming out of her mouth p>

“And about that fight, let’s just head to the police station right now p>
“My husband’s a lawyer anyway. Saves us a ton on legal fees!” Sophia’s mom could hardly hide her pride as she said that. Honestly, she’d actually met her husband years ago because of a fight, so this was kind of her thing.
The second Jasper’s mom heard that Cicely’s husband was a lawyer, her attitude changed. She didn’t exactly fear lawyers, but her family was in business. Her husband had always said, only deal with people like that if you absolutely have to. No reason to invite trouble.
Even so, Jasper’s mom tried to keep her tough act going. “Fine, police it is. Dean, you have to stand up for Jasper. Look what those kids did to him p>

Claire didn’t even blink. “Ma’am, your son started it. You saw what he said. If you want, we can show the security footage to everyone and let the whole school decide if he deserved a punch or not p>
“I’ll pay for the medical bills. But I want Jasper to apologize to us, in public, in front of everyone p>
Jasper shot out of his seat like he’d been burned. “No way! I’m not apologizing p>
He still wanted to keep his reputation at school. If everyone saw the video, they’d all know what kind of jerk he really was. Sure, Claire wasn’t the James family’s real daughter anymore, but that didn’t mean the Jameses would let him get away with this. He’d be the one who lost everything. Besides, he’d just met his dream girl in the cafeteria today. He was so over Claire. No way was he letting his goddess see him like this.

Bonnie’s face twisted with anger. “You think my son’s going to apologize to you? Not a chance p>
“And can you even afford those medical bills p>
“My son is special. He’s getting the best treatment the hospital has, no matter what p>
“You got kicked out by the James family. Where are you getting the money?” Bonnie looked Claire up and down, like she was sizing up a product. “You’re pretty enough I’m sure you’ll find a way to way to make

The dean heard that, and even if

wanted to help Bonnie, he couldn’t

and Sophia who were furious. Even
Darcey looked ready to explode.
“Bonnie, you’re a woman too. You might not be pretty, but you should at least have

Claire and Sophia caught each other’s eyes and couldn’t help laughing a little. Their teacher was savage. Just those words-“you might not be pretty” were enough to send Bonnie over the edge.
Jasper’s mom looked like she was about to have a meltdown.
