Chapter 120
“Let me help you with that p>
Claire grabbed some alcohol swabs and a bottle of hemostatic spray, carefully cleaning the young woman’s wound before spritzing it.
“This might sting a bit, but it really works. Try not to worry, okay?” Claire noticed the woman had her eyes squeezed shut the whole time, bracing herself like it was some kind of punishment. Claire had to smile a little and tried to reassure her.
The woman reached out, grabbing Claire’s arm without thinking.
Claire glanced down at her sleeve. Well, there it was. A bloody handprint.
She finished spraying the wound, and sure enough, the bleeding stopped right away. That stuff worked fast.
Up ahead, Edison had already taken another bottle from Claire and hurried off to help someone else.
“Is it done? Did it stop bleeding?” the woman asked, checking herself in the mirror. She sounded excited.
Claire had warned her it might hurt a bit, but honestly, compared to the sting of the alcohol, this was nothing.
“Yeah, you’re good,” Claire said, packing up her supplies.
The woman eyed the hemostatic spray longingly. “This is amazing! Where did you get it p>
She looked like she was already planning to order it online. I mean, who wouldn’t want this in their first aid kit?
“It’s custom made. You won’t find the exact same one in stores,” Claire explained.
The woman was already unbuckling her seatbelt. “I’m going to help too. That bus up there got hit pretty hard. There’s probably a lot of people who need help p>
“Your spray is going to save the day, Claire p>
She was halfway out the door before Claire could say anything. Even when Claire suggested she should rest in the car, just in case she felt dizzy, the woman brushed it off, still full of energy.
“I feel way better now. Must be because a gorgeous angel came to rescue me p>
“Oh, by the way, I’m Valeria. What’s your name p>
Valeria. It suited her, soft and sweet.
“Claire.” She kept it short, ignoring Valeria’s compliment about her name being cute. Since Valeria was determined to help, Claire didn’t try to stop her.
As they got out of the car, Valeria noticed the bloody handprint she’d left on Claire’s clothes.
“Oh my god, I’m so sorry, Claire. I was just so scared. I didn’t mean to mess up your shirt p>
“I’ll buy you a new one later p>
Valeria looked every bit the part of a pampered rich girl, driving her Porsche and all. She could tell right away Claire’s clothes weren’t cheap.
“It’s really fine. It’ll come out in the wash p>
Claire honestly didn’t care about stuff like that.
Together, they made a pretty good team. Claire handled the disinfecting, while Valeria took care of spraying the wounds.
The spray was easy, but disinfecting needed a gentle touch.
Soon, they found a little girl with a shard of glass stuck in her face. Her mom was with her, and the kide looked like she had the worst njuries so far
The mom rushed over when she saw them helping people.
“Can you help my daughter first? Please p>
“She’s got glass in her face. What if it gets infected? What if she’s scarred for life? Can you get the glass out now p>
Valeria froze for a second. “I… I don’t
think we can help with this. Our stuff is just for small cuts. She needs to get to a hospital right away. doctor has to do it.
Claire agreed. “If it’s treated properly, it won’t leave a bad scar. And even if
it does with all the medical advances now, it can be fixed. But you really shouldn’t move her. Wait for the paramedics p>
But the mom wouldn’t hear it. “You’re just making excuses. How can you turn your
back on someone who needs help p>
“You’re helping everyone else, so why can’t you help my daughter? Are you trying to delay her treatment on purpose p>
