The people from the van suddenly changed their tone.
Everyone looked down on the woman for cheating, and even their sympathy for the child started to fade.

She really has no shame. That was what everyone watching was thinking.
The only one who saw through them was Claire. She actually admired their acting- these two knew how to play the crowd, even when they were making themselves look bad. They could adapt to anything in a heartbeat.
“What’s everyone standing around for? Is anyone seriously hurt here p>
The police had arrived. That voice made both the man and woman tense up.
“Move aside, please. The ambulance is here for the seriously injured p>
As the officer came closer, the crowd shifted, leaving Claire still holding tightly to the woman.
The woman tried to run. She was even ready to drop the child and bolt, but she couldn’t break free from Claire’s grip.
How could this girl look so delicate but be so strong?
“Our kid isn’t getting in the ambulance! We’re not going to the hospital, we’ll just go to a clinic p>
“Yeah, it’s our right! Officer, please, get this crazy girl off us p>

The officer finally pushed through the crowd and saw Claire holding onto the woman with the child in her arms.

Claire turned to the officer. “This woman and that man over there-I don’t think

“What?” The officer and everyone around were stunned for a moment.
Anyone with kids would hate kidnappers more than anything.
“Kidnappers? Wasn’t that guy just her lover p>

Everyone was totally confused now.

Everyone’s attention was on the man now. That’s when the woman suddenly hurled
the child from her arms.
Claire and Valeria both stiffened in shock.
“No!” Valeria screamed.
Everyone around gasped.
No one expected the woman to be that heartless.
Claire reacted in a split second. She kicked the woman hard in the knee, sending
her straight down to the ground, and the child slipped from her grasp.
