Ramsey looked at Claire, completely serious as he tried to convince her.

Claire didn’t even hesitate. “No way. I’m not doing a photoshoot p>

Seeing how determined she was, Ramsey looked honestly disappointed. “That’s such a shame. You’re so pretty p>

“There are tons of girls out there not even half as pretty as you and they all have these artistic portraits done p>

“You don’t have to worry. There’s no way I’d take those super revealing, boudoir- style pictures. Just regular portraits. I promise you’ll look incredible p>

Claire grinned at him. “I look great without pictures p>

Well, she was impossible to convince. He could hear it in her tone.

Later, Claire gave Daniel another acupuncture session, wished Barry and his friends

a happy new year, and then politely turned down Chrystal’s invitation.

Chrystal had mentioned she’d be hosting some people at home the next day and invited Claire over for dinner. Claire just smiled and said she needed to catch up on her studies, so she’d have to pass.

To be fair, back when they first met, Chrystal really didn’t trust Claire’s skills. She was actually pretty vocal about her doubts. If Jennifer hadn’t stepped in and insisted, who even knows what would’ve happened to Daniel?

Even so, Claire always knew how to turn someone down without sounding rude.

Seeing that Claire genuinely seemed busy, Chrystal just said they could do it another time.

Afterward, Chrystal called Jennifer.

“Jennifer, do you think Claire’s refusing to have dinner with us because I offended her back at the hospital p>

Chrystal felt uneasy. On the surface, Claire seemed polite and easygoing, but clearly, she wasn’t the type to let herself be pushed around.

Ramsey asking her to be a model? Whatever, Chrystal didn’t care about that. But not coming over to the house for dinner? That had to mean Claire was still holding a grudge, right?

Chrystal knew she’d been wrong before and wanted to make things right. But if Claire didn’t want to give her a chance, there was nothing Chrystal could do.

“She’s not the kind of person to get hung up about that,” Jennifer saide

She actually liked Claire, and they chatted a few times.

“I know, but I still feel bad. That’s why I wanted to do something to make it up to her p>

Chrystal understood she hadn’t

exactly handled things well at first. Even if Claire didn’t mind, Pan definitely wasn’t happy.

“Chrystal, didn’t we already give Claire a whole house p>

“Just ask her if she needs anything else. We can handle that p>

“There’s really no need to push it,” Jennifer said. She hadn’t even thought it was a big deal.

Chrystal slapped her forehead. “Oh, right, I almost forgot p>

She hung up and turned to Ramsey “Ramsey, can you find out what young women like these days? We should put all of it in Claire’s new place.”

“Mom, I’ve never seen you go all out like this. Handing over an entire house?” Ramsey laughed.

“You know, you never offered to buy one for me p>

“When I was in high school, it took me half an hour to get home, and you still made me ride a bike p>

Chrystal gave him a gentle smack. “That’s not even close to the same thing p>

“Claire’s just a young woman. You riding a bike is normal. Besides, Jennifer paid for the house p>

“I only helped out with the decorating p>

Ramsey just couldn’t wrap his head around it. “So why would Jennifer buy her a house, then p>

If they wanted to thank her, ten or twenty thousand for her medical work was already

a lot.

But giving her a whole house? That was next level.
