Chapter 754
Who would have thought her own blood would be the one to betray her?
“Why would she do that?”
It made zero sense. Lillian relied on Sienna’s success for her own shot at stardom.
What did she gain from killing her golden goose?
As a cousin, she certainly wasn’t in line to inherit Sienna’s fortune.
“Because someone paid her off,” the director said, sounding just as furious.
The incident had derailed the entire production schedule.
He was pissed that Sienna had brought such a treacherous liability onto his set.
Some cousin she was literally stabbing her in the back. How could someone as sharp as Karla let a walking time bomb near her star?
Karla felt a crushing headache building behind her eyes.
“Where is Lillian now?”
“The police have her,” the director replied. “The evidence is airtight. She’s going down, but I’m worried she’ll try to beg Sienna for mercy.”
Karla sneered coldly. “Sienna will never forgive her.”
“Who paid her off?”
That was the part that gave the director an ulcer.
It was Leon Byron, the second male lead.
He had deliberately seduced Lillian, and the naive girl had fallen completely head over heels for him.
But Leon already had a serious girlfriend—a minor actress who had auditioned for Sienna’s role and lost.
The moment the studio locked in Sienna, the director hadn’t even looked at another audition tape.
But the girlfriend was convinced Sienna had stolen her spotlight.
So, she complained to Leon.
Leon was a spoiled, brainless idiot. He was a rich kid playing pretend in the industry,
and he believed his girlfriend deserved to be the leading lady.
Since Sienna was in her way, he decided to eliminate the obstacle.
“How can anyone be that stupid?”
Karla was in absolute disbelief.
What kind of unhinged logic was that?
Did he genuinely think attempted murder was legal?
“He thought a minor injury would just force

fail that catastrophically
This second lead was Leon Byron.
He had a pretty face but absolutely nothing between his ears.
Trust fund or not, once the police had hard evidence, he was going straight to a holding cell. No amount of cash could buy his way out of this, level of criminal negligence
Lillian had folded the second the detectives started questioning her.
She confessed to everything instantly!
When the cops grabbed Leon, he was popping champagne at a hotel with his girlfriend.
The girlfriend was just a D-list nobody.
It was a mystery where she got the audacity to think she could steal a leading role from an A-lister like Sienna.
Conveniently, there was zero evidence linking the girlfriend to the crime.
It was unclear if she was genuinely a
criminal mastermind, or if Leon was just a massive idiot acting on his own to play the knight in shining Farmor
“I’m calling the best lawyers in the city right now. I’m going to make sure those two psychos rot in a cell!”
Karla was vibrating with pure, unadulterated rage.
She turned to Claire and Dane, telling them to head home and get some sleep. She was going straight to the precinct.
Claire hadn’t heard the other side of the conversation, but it was obvious someone had intentionally sabotaged Sienna.
She immediately offered to drive Karla to the station.
“Don’t bother, I’ll grab a cab. Neither of you slept last night, so go home and crash.”
“Dane, can you drop Claire off first?”
Karla was very deliberately shutting down any chance of them checking into a hotel together.
She trusted her niece’s judgment entirely, but dealing with Lillian’s disastrous romantic obsession had her on edge.
She was entering maximum overprotective mode.
Was Lillian really just blinded by love, though?
Not necessarily.
She likely just wanted Leon’s money, assuming his family’s wealth could buy her a shortcut to the top.
The real lovesick idiot was Leon. He was dumb enough to commit a felony just to appease his girlfriend.
