Chapter 800
Under Karla’s iron-fisted mediation, the two parties quickly reached a settlement.
Sienna agreed to pay out a minimal, basic living allowance, but completely severed all other financial ties and responsibilities.
No matter how much the Darwins hated the terms, the surveillance footage left them with absolutely no leverage.
They figured they would just wait for Sienna’s anger to blow over and try to snake their way back into her good graces later.
They still had no idea that it had been Claire lying in that bed, not Sienna.
Unplugging the oxygen and shutting off the IV hadn’t put Sienna in danger.

But Karla’s threat had worked like a charm.
By exaggerating the severity of Sienna’s medical state, they made Beatrice genuinely terrified of catching a murder charge.
As for Thomas, even though he had dumped all the blame on his wife, he was terrified that Beatrice would drag him down with her if she got interrogated by the cops.
And so, the family that had stormed in with such greedy entitlement scurried out of the hospital with their tails between their legs.
It was safe to say they wouldn’t be causing trouble for a very long time.
“I guarantee they’ll try to play the family card with Sienna again down the line,”
Claire remarked, watching the trio scurry away.
She highly doubted they would just magically become decent people.
They were just laying low for now.
“Let them try. If they show their faces again, I’ll just pull out the footage,” Karla replied, totally unbothered.
She didn’t take the threat seriously at all.
Having just woken up from major surgery, Sienna was physically and mentally drained.
But she was immensely grateful to Claire—not just for the life-saving procedure, but for her role in the sting operation last night.
“Claire, I honestly don’t even know how to thank you.”
Claire waved her off with a gentle smile. “No need. It was no trouble at all.”
“You need to focus on resting now. Save your strength. Once you’re feeling a bit stronger and ready for rehab…”
Claire hesitated. She was going to offer her help, but she wasn’t sure if Sienna believed in alternative medicine, and she wasn’t exactly desperate for more work. Had it not been for her respect for Karla, she wouldn’t have even brought it up.
Sienna eagerly caught the hint. “Dr. Quinn mentioned that your acupuncture skills are incredible and that they could really accelerate my recovery. Would you be willing to help me, Claire?”
Since Sienna was the one asking,
Claire nodded. “I probably won’t be
staying
Apex much longer. I’ll be
moving to Cabinda soon.” .net>
The implication was clear: if Sienna Claire’s help with rehab, they
= part in Apex, but she would
have to follow her to Cabinda later.
Sienna didn’t mind that condition in the slightest.
“I actually live in Cabinda anyway. If you’re heading there, I’ll just move back too.”
Karla chimed in, agreeing that relocating to Cabinda would be far more convenient for everyone.
“Alright then. Once you’re cleared to start physical therapy, I’ll come see you,” Claire promised.
Sienna let out a deep sigh of relief.
She had been terrified Claire would turn her down.

Claire slipped out of the
room only to run smack into Tiffany.
Somehow, the woman had managed to track down Sienna’s exact room number. “Tiffany.”
Since they were face-to-face in the hallway, Claire didn’t even have a chance to dodge her.
“Oh, Claire!” Tiffany looked genuinely surprised to see her standing there.
“Are you not feeling well, Tiffany? What brings you to the hospital?”
Claire knew exactly what she was up to, but played completely dumb.
“Oh, I’m perfectly fine. I’m just here looking for someone.”
As she spoke, Tiffany’s eyes darted toward the hospital room right behind Claire.
It matched the room number she had dug up.
“Say, Claire, have you seen Karla around?”
“You just came out of that room, right?”
“Is Karla in there with that actress, Sienna Darwin?”
Claire stood in silence. Was it too late to just say no?
Probably, considering the timing.
Because Karla was stepping out of the room at that exact moment.
