Chapter 922
“Don’t tell me your brother cooked all this himself?” Zara blinked in surprise.
If he did, she was absolutely going to ask if he had a girlfriend.
“No, our family’s private chef made it.”
Claire clarified.
A private chef?
Skye gasped. “What kind of crazy rich family are you from? Though, I guess your brother does have that billionaire-heir vibe.”
Still, the image of a wealthy heir making a dorm bed was mind-boggling.
She had assumed rich guys didn’t even know how to fold a shirt.
But Claire’s brother seemed surprisingly grounded.
“We’re just a bit more comfortable than most,” Claire said, keeping it vague so she wouldn’t intimidate her roommates.
“Whoa, so you’re a total heiress, Claire! We’re officially living off the 1%!”
Claire slid the container of brisket toward Skye. “Just eat, before your food gets cold.”
“I don’t really do fatty meat.”
As delicious and perfectly caramelized as the brisket smelled, Skye had hated fat since childhood.
“Just try it. It’s not your average cut.”
“Take a small bite. If you hate it, spit it out.”
Claire took a bite herself. It looked rich, but it was undeniably incredible.
“Alright, I’ll try one.”
Reluctantly, Skye picked up a small piece, not wanting to waste it.
The chef had incredible knife skills, ensuring every bite was uniform and beautifully glazed.
Skye took a tiny nibble.
Instantly, the flavor exploded on her tongue-tender, melt-in-your-mouth perfection without a hint of greasiness.
“Well?”
Zara was strictly against fatty foods too, avoiding brisket like the plague.
It wasn’t just about the taste; she was terrified of gaining weight.
“So good!” Skye mumbled through a mouthful of meat, too busy chewing to speak properly.
“Is it really that good?” Zara remained skeptical as Skye eagerly grabbed another piece.
Her family’s chef made brisket too, but Zara usually only took a polite nibble, or skipped it entirely.
Her dad was the only one who actually enjoyed it.
“Just try it, you’ll see,” Skye urged her.
Meanwhile, Lex quietly took a piece.
She didn’t even look up as she ate, having never tasted anything so divine in her entire life.
Lex acutely felt the massive gap between her world and Claire’s.
At home, her family practically counted the pieces of meat she ate to ensure she didn’t take too much.
Yet Claire’s family casually sent over gourmet meals.
After Zara finally tried a piece, she immediately understood that Claire’s
