Chapter 1577

“Shut up and drive. If you lose them, I’ll put you in the hospital myself!”
Properly threatened, the young rookie swallowed his fear and slammed his foot on
the gas.
He definitely didn’t want to end up in the ICU courtesy of his own captain.
Blissfully unaware of the catastrophic pile-up or the fact that Graves had orchestrated the brutal collision, Claire remained curled in the trunk.
All she knew was that Zachary had spent the last twenty minutes driving in agonizing circles around the bus terminal without ever pulling in.
She had no idea where they were now, but the frantic whispers from the front seat indicated they were closing in on their drop point.
It was true; after triggering the massacre, Graves had bypassed the city entirely and made a beeline for the reservoir.
Zachary’s Honda finally tore through the gates of the forest park.
The sprawling nature reserve offered massive, secluded parking lots, playing perfectly into their hands.
Within minutes, they screeched to a halt outside Silverpeak Aquatics.
“We’re escaping on a boat? Are you out of your mind?”
Zachary was utterly paralyzed by the sheer lunacy of the plan.
Was Graves’s grand escape route seriously this unhinged?
Could they really cross international borders via a tourist attraction?
But as always, the spies had thoroughly prepared for the impossible.
They approached the rental dock, seeking a motorized boat while hauling a completely unconscious girl and a severely bleeding man.
The lone staff member on duty instantly hammered them with questions.
“Folks, are you seriously taking a passed-out girl out on the water?”
“And this older gentleman looks like he can barely stand.” The worker was deeply alarmed by the grotesque group dynamic.
“My father is dying of cancer. My sister hasn’t slept in days taking care of him, so she finally crashed. We absolutely refuse to wake her.”
“As for why we’re taking a boat…” Zachary stammered, looking frantically at Reese because his ability to lie had just evaporated.
“Our parents met on this exact lake when they were young.”
“Their only regret was never coming back together. Mom passed away in a tragic accident, and my dad just wants to see the water one last time before he goes.”
“Once we leave the hospital today, he’s never coming back here.”
“I’m a registered nurse. We’ll take perfect care of him.”
“These boats are incredibly safe. There’s nothing to worry about.”
“Please, I’m begging you. Just let an old man have his dying wish.”
Reese delivered the tragic monologue with devastating emotional precision.
Yet, the staff member remained entirely unmoved, flatly refusing to unlock the boats!
The kidnappers’ faces hardened into masks of panic.
With a tactical police unit hunting them down, they couldn’t afford to waste another second.
Realizing the man wouldn’t budge, Reese didn’t hesitate. She produced a syringe and violently jammed it into his neck.
The worker crumpled to the dock instantly. Reese snatched the keys from his belt and sprinted toward the nearest speedboat.
Zachary hauled Claire over his shoulder, dumping her onto the deck, while Reese dragged the groaning Zeke aboard.
The second Zachary cranked the
engine, Reese leaned over the railing and screamed at the top of her
lungs Help Someone ho
nan just collapsed!”

The surrounding park employees heard the frantic screaming and rushed toward the
dock to save their coworker.
In the sheer panic of the medical emergency, absolutely no one noticed the unauthorized boat tearing away from the pier.
They vanished in a blur of speed.
By the time the staff loaded the drugged worker into an ambulance, the massive
lapse in aquatic security was completely forgotten.
Jace tracked their coordinates right to the water park, arriving just in time to watch them speed off into the lake with Claire.
Instead of stealing a boat to give
chase, he grabbed an e-bike,
gunning the throttle as he tore along the rugged shoreline, keeping his eyes locked on their wake.
The recreational lake was physically connected to the massive Silverpeak Reservoir.
However, heavy security barricades
separated the two bodies of water prevent ent tourists from drifting into the dangerous currents.
Technically, a rental boat couldn’t access the reservoir.
But the spies were prepared for that, too.
They slammed the boat against the barricade, abandoned the vessel, and scaled
the fencing.
A second, high-powered boat was already idling on the other side, waiting to swallow them into the vast darkness of the reservoir.
