The two groups formed a convoy and drove straight into the Zen Marches. Upon arriving, it was easy to spot plenty of familiar faces from Solenia.
Given its proximity to their homeland, it was a popular destination for tourists despite being a foreign country.
There were also a massive number of jade traders. Claire, Tandy, and their new companion Stephen booked rooms at the same hotel.

Claire and Tandy had adjoining rooms, directly across the hall from Stephen’s crew.
Rory shared a room with Claire, Jace had his own, and Tandy kept his one personal bodyguard with him.
Yes, Tandy only brought one guard, but the man was a former elite operative from the central security bureau who had been with Tandy for years.
The higher-ups hadn’t just requested Claire for this mission; they had specifically borrowed her two personal guards, having heard about Rory and Jace’s lethal combat skills.
Thus, Tandy only needed one man, keeping their numbers lean to avoid suspicion.
As for Stephen, his team consisted entirely of fresh, unfamiliar faces.
However, every single one of them was a highly trained combat specialist.
That very first night, barely after they had settled in, small illicit business cards started being slipped under their doors.

Except here, it was completely legal.
Some were even more direct. Madams would personally knock on doors, holding up their phones and swiping through photos of their roster.

Thinking she had a live one, Flora immediately pulled up her photo gallery.

Flora rattled off a whole list, but Rory rejected every single one.

Flora was starting to realize this woman had zero intention of booking anyone. She was just wasting her time!
