Chapter 1820
[ 630 words ]
Why on earth would Julian provoke a titan like that?
Did he think his life was going too smoothly and wanted to destroy it just for fun?
“So what if his last name is Churchill?”
“It’s a rare name, sure, but…”
The boss cut Julian off before he could finish. “I think you’re just painfully ignorant.”
“Norris Churchill is the eldest young master of The Churchill Group.”
“Wait, The Churchill Group? Like, *the* Churchill Group?” Julian’s face completely drained of color.
“How is that even possible? If he’s a Churchill, why is he teaching at a university instead of inheriting the empire?”
“It’s not like the family has a shortage of heirs. If the eldest son wants to teach, he teaches,” the boss replied, clearly viewing the world differently than Julian.
The Churchills might not hold political office, but their wealth was unfathomable.
A dynasty that deeply entrenched in the nation’s foundation proved they stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the absolute highest levels of power.
The economic backing they provided the city was beyond a normal person’s comprehension.
So, did the eldest son of the Churchill family have the power to obliterate Julian’s father? Easily.
“Did he really do this?” Julian still struggled to accept that Norris wielded that kind of god-like authority.
But if he had, it made perfect sense.
After all, Fannie was in love with him.
A billionaire heir destroying an entire family just to avenge a woman? Completely logical.
“Nine times out of ten, it was him. Or maybe it was one of the countless other people you’ve offended. Given how you run your mouth, your current downfall is practically karma.”
The boss was deeply bitter and threw out insults effortlessly.
Julian had no rebuttal.
He truly had crossed a lot of people.
It was proof that being a wildly arrogant tyrant eventually blew up in your face.
“I strongly advise you to keep your head down and stay away from Fannie’s family.”
“Because if you don’t, your family definitely won’t be able to save you.”
Julian didn’t say a word, though his face twisted in defiant rage.
Seeing this, the boss added one final warning.
“Unless, of course, your hands are completely clean. If you haven’t committed a single crime or broken a single law.”
“If no one has any leverage on you, then go ahead and do whatever you want.”
Julian didn’t dare make that claim.
Rats always had their filthy little secrets.
Once Julian made up his mind, nothing the boss said was going to stop him.
Realizing Julian was utterly beyond saving, the boss finalized his own backup plan. He decided to pin all his past crimes directly onto Julian.
Since he was already going down, the idiot might as well take the fall for everything.
“I’m leaving.” Julian’s brain was consumed with violent fantasies of revenge. The more he thought about
it, the more he
needed to destroy
someone.
He stormed out, radiating absolute fury.
The second he walked through the door, the boss picked up the phone and made a call.
Before Julian could even attempt to track down Fannie’s family, he was thrown in handcuffs.
This time, he wasn’t getting out anytime soon. He would just have to enjoy a lovely family reunion with his father and brother behind bars.
Furthermore, investigators dug up a horrific cold case.
During his school days, Julian
led a group of bullies who relentlessly tormented
camping the girl mysteriously vanished.
classmate During trip,
Because her family was deeply sexist and only cared about sons, the school paid
them off, and the case was closed.
But now, the files were ripped wide
open. Witnesses came forward claiming Julian had led the group to the girl, which ultimately caused her to drown in the river.
When she died, they had simply dumped the body.
With a murder charge hanging over his head, Julian was never seeing daylight again.
There was a very high chance his sentence would be far heavier than his father’s or brother’s.
A human life had meant absolutely nothing to him.
Everything had finally caught up.
