Chapter 1183
The heavy glass tumbler that had been sitting on the sink counter was brutally swept onto the floor, exploding into jagged, glittering shards.
Before Noreen could even scream, Seth grabbed the largest piece of broken glass. Without a second of hesitation, he slashed the jagged edge across the palm of his left hand.
Blood instantly welled up, spilling through his fingers.
He let out a low grunt, his body violently convulsing. The blinding heat threatening to incinerate his mind was forcefully beaten back by the sharp, agonizing pain in his hand.
He braced himself against the floor, the veins in his arms bulging as crimson blood dripped down his palm. One drop, then another, splattering onto the broken glass covering the tiles.
Relying on this near-masochistic clarity, he finally spoke. “I called Jude. He should be here soon. Leave.”
Noreen stared at the blood staining the white porcelain, her eyes growing red with a mix of fury and heartbreak.
But Seth acted as if he couldn’t feel the pain at all. Panting heavily, he hoarsely repeated the one rule he had clung to like a lifeline. “I promised you. Unless you give me permission, I will never cross the line.”
His stubbornness was maddening.
Trembling with anger, Noreen suddenly surged forward and bit down hard on his lower lip. It wasn’t gentle; it carried a desperate bite of frustration.
Seth went rigid again. The fragile thread of sanity he had bought with his own blood wavered dangerously.
He winced, his breathing chaotic. “You…”
Noreen stayed pressed against his lips, her breath scorching hot as she spoke with fierce determination. “If you don’t kiss me right now, I’m never speaking to you again.”
Seth’s breath hitched. A violent storm of desire and restraint raged in his dark eyes. Swallowing hard, he still couldn’t let himself believe it. “…Are you… sure?”
He was actually still asking.
Noreen completely lost her patience. Reaching out, she grabbed the collar of his soaked shirt and ripped it open. Buttons tore loose, clattering against the tiles and broken glass.
Her fingers traced a path up his wet, hard chest, hooking around his neck to pull him down to her level. She gritted her teeth, her breathless voice laced with attitude. “You talk too much.”
The taut string in Seth’s mind finally snapped entirely at her undeniable permission and brazen touch.
The throbbing pain in his palm was still spreading, but it stood no chance against the tidal wave of desire crashing through him.
With a low guttural growl, he took complete control. His arms banded around her like iron, crushing her against his chest as he claimed her with
mo ferocity that eclipsed
before.
She wrapped her arms around his shoulders, returning his fiery kisses, entirely lost
in the moment. For a fleeting second, it was impossible to tell who was more desperate.
Her gown was completely soaked, clinging to her skin and outlining every stunning curve, creating an unbearably seductive image.
Seth supported her waist while his other hand slid upward along the smooth line of her leg.
Her chest rose and fell rapidly. She tilted her elegant neck back, her voice fracturing. “It’s cold…”
Seth swept her into his arms,
pressing her against the tiled wall as
he continued to devour her mouth
He turned on the hot water. It cascaded over then, washing away the freezing chill and igniting an entirely new kind of inferno.
Noreen looped her arms around his neck, kissing him back with everything she had.
He hooked a strong arm under her legs, lifting her completely off the floor and pinning her firmly against the wall.
He took her.
Her brow furrowed slightly as a rosy flush spread across her luminous skin. Biting her lip, the soft sounds that escaped her were intoxicating.
They tangled together, lost in the heat of the water and the scorching warmth of their bodies. Steam fogged the mirror, obscuring the reflection of the two silhouettes moving as one.
In the misty, damp bathroom, the only sounds left were their overlapping, heavy breaths.
The noise of the corridor was
completely blocked out by the heavy oak door. The only thing leaking
oake crack of the bathroomTM
through
door was a series of breathless, passionate sounds.
Dylan Wilder stood frozen by that very door.
Ten minutes ago, a waiter had handed him a message claiming Noreen needed to
see him in the lounge.
