Chapter 1389

[ 572 words ]

“Claire, why are you back so late?”

Seeing Claire, Seb was actually in a good mood.

He handed her two skewers.

Then he looked at Padgett. “Grandpa Padgett, do you want one?”

Padgett was speechless. “I’ll take one.”

If only he had a drink to go with it.

Unfortunately… Padgett glanced at his granddaughter.

This girl would definitely not allow him to drink.

Seeing Seb munching away, Claire patted his arm. “Seb, are you okay? Grandpa said you had a fight with your mom.”

It wasn’t actually that late yet, but if she didn’t get all the gossip, she probably wouldn’t sleep well tonight.

“My mom!” Just mentioning his mother made Seb furious.

His cousin Leon’s incident had happened so long ago, yet the Byron family still wanted his mom to pull strings and get Leon out.

It was completely absurd!

That was soliciting murder!

Even with all their wealth, the Churchill family wouldn’t dare mess around with that,

yet his mother actually agreed to figure something out.

Leon’s mother even wanted to introduce a boyfriend to his sister.

His aunt was always jealous of his mother; how could she possibly introduce anyone decent to his sister?

This guy was definitely bad news.

“Grandpa Padgett, you have to look into this Jude Thatcher guy. The name alone sounds like some old creep, and supposedly he’s a government official.”

“This is probably just them trying to use my sister as a favor so they can pull strings to get Leon out.”

What Seb said made perfect sense.

Even Padgett felt something was off after hearing it.

“Your mother agreed?”

“She agreed to a blind date.” Seb also felt ashamed to have a mother like that.

She was completely clueless,

wanting to push her own t

daughter into a raging fire pit these circumstances Conten

“Foolish!” Padgett was furious.

The Churchill family didn’t sell out their children. If Tiffany really made Yolande go on a blind date just for her nephew’s sake, she truly didn’t deserve to be a Churchil

daughter-in-law.

Because his nephew liked her, Padgett had never thought of interfering with his marriage.

But now he regretted it.

If he had intervened back then, maybe his nephew’s wife wouldn’t be such an idiot!

“Call your dad!”

“Tell him to come over here, and your grandpa too!”

As for Tiffany, that woman was still at her maiden family’s house.

Seb knew that once Padgett found out, his father and grandfather wouldn’t be able

to escape.

He hadn’t wanted to take things this far originally.

It was his mother who disregarded his sister first.

His sister was her biological

ghter

Was a nephew from heret

maiden family more important than

own flesh and blood?

Furthermore, that nephew wasn’t even from her biological brother, but a cousin’s son!

Luckily, Yolande wasn’t around. She had gone abroad for a performance organized by her school.

If Yolande were here, she would have probably been tricked into the blind date by her mother already.

Claire also felt a headache coming on having an aunt like Tiffany.

More importantly, her heart ached for Yolande and Seb.

Both kids were so great, yet they had such a clueless mother!

Her abilities completely failed to match her ambitions.

It was already eleven at night by the time Pike and his son Owen arrived at the old estate.

The two were extremely displeased but didn’t dare go against Padgett, so they could only silently glare at Seb.

“Padgett, what’s going on, calling us over this late at night?”

Even if the sky fell, the taller ones would hold it up. Couldn’t they let him get a good night’s sleep first?

“You have the nerve to ask? Can you or can you not control that wife of yours?”
