Chapter 1390

[ 612 words ]

Padgett rarely lost his temper anymore.

Pike and his son exchanged glances.

Ultimately, it was Owen who stepped up. “Uncle Padgett, what did Tiffany do this time?”

“Let your son tell you!” Padgett had zero patience for this nephew of his, who was terrible at reading people and utterly useless.

Fine.

Owen could only look at his son.

Seb explained how he and his mother went to her maiden family’s house, and how they tricked her into setting up a blind date for his sister.

“I strongly objected right then and there, got into a huge fight with my mom, and then ran over to Grandpa’s place.”

He was afraid that if his mother came home, they would argue again. He could only seek help from Padgett regarding this matter.

After all, his father and grandfather usually didn’t care much about these things.

He was worried they wouldn’t take it seriously, and when his sister came back, she would actually be forced into a blind date.

“How could your mother agree to such a thing?”

“Even if she was looking for a partner for Yolande, she should find someone we know well. What kind of outstanding young men could her cousin and his wife possibly know?”

“Let me have someone look into this Jude Thatcher first.”

They couldn’t just paint everyone with the same brush. What if the person they introduced this time was actually a good guy?

Claire, however, quickly brought over her laptop. The screen displayed the profile of the man matching Seb’s description named Jude Thatcher.

“Jude Thatcher is thirty-two, divorced, and has a son with his ex-wife. Currently, his son lives abroad with his ex-wife.”

“He does indeed work at the municipal bureau and holds a decent position. The most powerful person in his family is his uncle…”

Claire’s introduction made the faces of the Churchill men darken.

This Jude Thatcher was an older divorced man, yet the Byron family dared to introduce him to Yolande.

Moreover, the power behind this man could definitely bring benefits to the Byron family.

It was very likely they wanted to trade Yolande to get Leon’s sentence reduced and eventually have him released.

Or perhaps pull some strings to get Leon acquitted altogether.

But how did they have the nerve?

Sienna Darwin was a public figure.

As long as Sienna exposed them, it would absolutely implicate their side.

So, regarding Leon’s case, no matter how many connections they found, it would be useless.

This was also why the Byron family was acting like a cornered beast.

Unless they really found someone who could threaten Sienna into letting bygones be bygones.

But the Byron family didn’t have that kind of influence.

Sienna also had Karla, the second madam of the Churchill family, backing her!

“You want your daughter to marry a man like that?” Padgett looked at his nephew.

Owen shook his head. “No, I just thought…”

The other party’s background was actually quite good.

If Yolande really liked him, it wouldn’t hurt to give it a try.

“Thought my ass!” Padgett swore outright.

“Have you ever considered that this man is eleven years older than Yolande!”

“Older men know how to dote on their partners. Isn’t Dane older than our Claire?”

Back when iffany took a liking to

Dane, she

wanted to set him upet

Yolande It just didn’t work out, right? Gontent

That was the son-in-law Padgett had

chosen for his granddaughter; th

branch couldn’t stealfim.

But this man who was eleven years older actually looked like he had a bright future.

If there were no issues with his character, they really could consider it.

Before

speak they heard Seb roaring at his

father. No forbid

“I won’t let my sister marry an older, divorced man!”

“And become a stepmother to someone else’s kid!”

What was wrong with his dad? Was he brainwashed by his mom?

Why did he share the exact same thoughts as his mother?

Was his sister even their biological daughter?
