Chapter 1833
[ 482 words ]
“Your dad…”
With a mother like that, who was to say her father or grandfather wouldn’t take Tiffany’s side?
Ewan was still worried.
“They’ll help me,” Yolande said. She didn’t have much faith in her parents, but she knew exactly how to handle them.
Both men were terrified of the old patriarch.
If she even mentioned going to him, they would resolve the issue immediately.
But until her father stepped up, she didn’t want to burden Ewan with the details.
“Claire, were you going to do his acupuncture? I’ll wait outside. You go ahead,” Yolande said, cutting off Ewan before he could argue further.
Swallowing his words, Ewan nodded.
Yolande smiled and stepped out to give them privacy.
Claire began Ewan’s acupuncture session, leaving him with a fresh batch of herbal pills.
She had rolled them by hand. They weren’t pretty, but they were incredibly effective.
Ewan’s legs used to ache constantly, but since taking Claire’s medicine, the pain had significantly subsided.
“Claire, how long before I can try standing up?”
Ewan was practically vibrating with anticipation.
Claire gave him a measured look. “If you can handle the pain, you can start trying to stand and take a few steps now. But I highly recommend getting a physical therapist to assist you.”
She didn’t want him pushing himself blindly.
But Ewan was intensely proud, and she worried he’d try it alone and risk further injury.
“Really? I can try?” Ewan asked. He had almost given up hope of ever standing again.
But after Claire’s treatments, the agonizing pain and heavy numbness had faded. His skin no longer felt dead to the touch.
Now, he was desperate to get back
on his feet. He wanted to return to his studies, and more importantly
he wanted to be worthy of the
woman he loved.
Yolande hadn’t even graduated college, and her family was already forcing her into blind dates. It gave him an overwhelming sense of urgency.
“Yes, you can. But like I said, it’s going to hurt.”
Claire knew that if he started now, his sheer willpower would carry him to a full recovery.
Many patients failed to regain full mobility simply because they lacked mental fortitude.
Rehab was sheer torture. Some coasted by, settling for a slight limp. But to walk perfectly again required grueling dedication.
“Keep your training under two hours a day. Start by standing for a minute or two and slowly increase the time Claire instructed, seeing his eagerness.
Ewan knew Claire had his best interests at heart and was deeply grateful.
Vol.ne
“My sister is doing much better too. Hillary is practically going crazy from boredom at home. She wanted to reach out but she was afraid of
bothering you content
Claire smiled. She liked Hillary Harding. “I’ll go visit her when I have some free time.
I’ve missed a lot of classes lately, so I’ve been swamped.”
Her distance had nothing to do with Hanson Patton’s previous stunt.
Ewan caught her underlying reassurance and beamed. “I’ll let her know!” “Mhm,” Claire hummed.
But Ewan had more pressing matters on his mind-specifically, Yolande.
