Chapter 1875
[ 627 words ]
“Claire, hurry downstairs with Norris. I’m already at the entrance of your complex.”
“I’ll drive, so you guys don’t need to bring a car.”
Owen made a point to remind them.
Alright then. The two of them left their car behind. As soon as they got downstairs, they saw Owen leaning against his car door while a group of enthusiastic older women chatted with him.
At first glance, it looked incredibly cool, but the addition of the passionate ladies made the scene hilarious.
As Claire approached, she could hear one of the women asking, “Young man, are you really not looking for a girlfriend? My niece is graduating with her master’s this year. She’s a top student in the law department.”
“I think you two would be a perfect match.”
The woman looked Owen up and down, convinced he was the ideal nephew-in-law.
If her granddaughter weren’t only sixteen, she would have saved him for her instead.
Still, the niece was a great choice too, and very respectful to her aunt.
Plus, studying at The Cabinda University meant she was smart and guaranteed to have a bright future.
If she could pair her with a tall, rich, and handsome guy, it would be absolutely perfect.
This potential nephew-in-law seemed custom-made for their family.
“Exactly! I have a younger daughter. She might be two or three years older than you, but she’s already an elite executive at a listed company.”
Another woman practically fought to introduce her own daughter.
“She makes over a hundred thousand dollars a year. Young man, why don’t we exchange numbers? You two could meet up when you have time.”
Owen actually wanted to laugh. “You ladies are quite trendy.”
Making over a hundred thousand dollars a year was indeed impressive, even in Cabinda.
The woman was clearly very proud of her daughter.
“Your daughter is outstanding, I’m afraid I wouldn’t be good enough for her.”
Owen smiled and politely declined. “You see this expensive car of mine? It’s all funded by my family.”
Catching sight of Norris and Claire walking toward him, he quickly waved. “Norris, Claire, over here!”
The moment he waved, the group of older women turned to look.
Seeing Norris and Claire, their eyes lit up.
“Oh my, this family has such gorgeous genes.”
“So this is Norris. Hello, Norris. You look so reliable. Why do you look exactly like
that professor from The Cabinda University?”
Most of the people living in this complex had kids studying at The Cabinda University or the nearby schools.
Since these families valued education, it wasn’t surprising that they recognized Norris.
“Is Norris married?”
“And this little one must be your sister. She looks so young, she probably hasn’t started dating yet My grandson is also at The cabinda University…”
Claire felt completely exasperated. She was never this overly familiar with the ladies in the complex.
Norris shot Owen a look. This was all his fault.
If Owen hadn’t been standing at the entrance attracting a crowd, they wouldn’t be trapped here now.
Knowing he was in the wrong, Owen didn’t dare argue.
He quickly pulled open the car doors, shoved Norris and Claire inside, and made a run for it.
“Ladies, let’s chat next time! I don’t、
My plans to date right now, but
you
de, I’ll definitely come introductions.”
Owen maintained his politeness to the end, waving at the crowd as he left.
Although the women moved out of the way, they were genuinely reluctant to see Owen leave so soon.
“Alright, alright, make sure to find us next time.”
“You really should leave a number, young man. My social media handle is—”
The ladies were simply too enthusiastic. Even as Owen’s car pulled out of the complex, he could still hear their chatter.
“I like Norris. He’s very grounded.”
“Owen is great too! Sunny and cheerful, he gives off that fun, wealthy-family-kid vibe.”
“Claire is wonderful as well. She’s sq pretty;
will definitely inherit her future looks and high 10. Contecoust
