Chapter 1054
“Enough.”
Carman raised his voice slightly, and Mina finally shut her mouth.
As their silhouettes disappeared into the ballroom, Jasmine stepped out from behind
the Roman pillar, her face a mask of pure gloom.
Her fists were clenched tight.
Her eyes burned with fury.
She and Carman hadn’t seen each other in three months.
During that time, she had tried reaching out to him countless times.
But the moment Carman heard her voice, he would hang up, flatly refusing to communicate.
It was only when she used their child as a threat that he finally initiated a call.
He told her the divorce was absolute, and if she had any demands, she could speak directly to his lawyer.
Meanwhile, he had used the excuse of providing technical guidance to out-of-town clients to avoid coming home for two whole months.
He finally returned, but only to celebrate Noreen’s birthday.
Fine.
Just perfect!
Those two siblings were treating her like a complete outsider!
But Jasmine simply couldn’t accept defeat. She dialed Carman’s number.
Carman hung up immediately. Just like before, he refused to answer.
So, she called Mina’s phone instead.
Mina picked up, but before she could even get a word out, Jasmine snapped coldly, “Tell your brother to answer his phone! If he ignores me, I have no problem causing a massive scene at Noreen’s party!”
Reluctantly, Mina handed the phone to Carman.
Jasmine repeated her threat. “You walk out of Noreen’s party right now. If you don’t, I’m coming inside to make a scene, and we can all be humiliated together.”
Cornered, Carman finally walked out. His expression was icy and somber.
Jasmine marched right up to him and demanded, “Why are you treating me like this? Who is your actual wife?”
“Whatever you have to say, save it for later. The people inside are the most influential figures in Rivercrest City. If you actually care about InnoCore, don’t make a scene Kere,” Garman warned, his tone
frighteningly calm.
But Jasmine was blinded by rage. She couldn’t hear a word of reason.
More than anything, she couldn’t stomach his complete apathy toward her.
It was as if she could jump off a building right now, and he wouldn’t even bat an eye.
He was her husband.
The man who shared her bed.
“Since you’re throwing me away,
why should I care about InnoCore? You don’t want me to make a scene? Are you just terrified 11
Noreen’s special night? Well now I’m definitely going to ruin it!”
Carman’s face darkened, his voice dropping into a sharp reprimand. “Jasmine! Please calm down!”
“I will absolutely not calm down!”
Jasmine was borderline hysterical.
“What exactly do you want?”
The reason Carman despised dealing with her was precisely because of this temperament.
She had zero sense of decency and would throw a screaming fit over the slightest issue.
Because of her, he had been humiliated in front of his own employees time and time again.
In the past, for the sake of his dignity, family peace, and their child, he had constantly compromised.
He thought giving in would buy them a harmonious home.
But he never expected his tolerance would only feed her endless demands and reckless entitlement.
He was done holding back.
“I want you to drop the divorce!” Jasmine snapped.
Carman’s eyes turned arctic. “Impossible. This marriage is over.”
Her already volatile emotions exploded at his definitive rejection.
She completely lost her mind, her screams echoing across the entire lobby. “Don’t even dream about it! Carman Holt! I will never grant you a divorce! Don’t think I don’t know what kind of pathetic game you’re playing! You just want to ditch me so you can go crawling back to Noreen!”
“In your dreams, Carman!”
