Noreen hadn’t slept in a bed like this for a long time.

It wasn’t as spacious as her own, and the room was much smaller.

But it forced them closer together.

She thought she would have insomnia, but she ended up sleeping soundly, dreamless through the night.

If it weren’t for Claire Chase’s urgent phone call, she could have kept sleeping.

Claire had called Seth’s number, so Noreen picked it up.

When she answered, Noreen was still drowsily tangled in his arms.

Claire was blunt. “Put her on the phone! It’s an absolute emergency!”

Seth finally pressed the phone to Noreen’s ear.

“Your mom just called me. She said she’s bringing me hangover soup. You need to get over here right now!”

Noreen shot up from the bed, throwing off the covers and scrambling to her feet.

As she hastily threw on her clothes, she urged Seth, “Hurry, hurry! My mom is heading to the hotel. Get up and drive me there!”

“Alright.”

Seeing her clumsily fumbling with the buttons of his dress shirt, Seth took over. His long, agile fingers smoothly buttoned it up. “Don’t panic. We have time.”

“I’ll have Sophia Cole drop off some clean clothes for you at the hotel later,” Seth reminded her as he stepped back.

A flush crept up Noreen’s cheeks.

She had come home with him in her evening gown last night. After her shower, she had nothing else to change into and had to make do with his shirt.

The hem barely covered her hips, leaving her long, stunning legs fully exposed. Seth forced his predatory gaze away from her legs and headed into the bathroom. When Noreen followed him in, he had already squeezed toothpaste onto her brush. They freshened up in record time and rushed back to the hotel.

Seeing her return, Claire, whose nerves had been stretched to the breaking point, collapsed onto the bed.

She gasped, “That was way too close.”

“If you’d like it, I can make it for you anytime, sir,” the chef offered.

In his eyes, a wealthy heir like Seth would never step foot in a kitchen, let alone cook a soup from scratch.

Evelyn chuckled from the side. “He’s asking for the recipe because he plans to make it for his girlfriend.”
