Chapter 1072
Wade spoke up at a leisurely pace, “It’s only a couple of weeks until the New Year. Are you going to bring her home for the holidays?”
Evelyn looked at him with hopeful eyes.
“Not a chance. I’m not even her official boyfriend yet, and you’re already expecting her at the family dinner table.”
Wade fell silent.
It sounded pathetic, but Wade also felt his son completely deserved it.
Still, Wade cared for him, so he asked, “Have you been seeing your therapist regularly?”
“No.”
He hated going to therapy.
Wade frowned.
Then Seth added, “I’ve already found the best therapist in the world for me. She works much better than anyone you’ve hired.”
Saturday.
Silas dropped Yolande off at the airport.
Yolande asked him when he was heading back to Glenhaven City.
He had been staying in Rivercrest City recently and rarely returned home.
“Once I handle my business here, I’ll go back.”
Yolande frowned, complaining, “That woman is acting like a total lunatic. It feels like the staff can barely control her anymore.”
“Then up her sedatives,” Silas said coldly.
Yolande shook her head. “We can’t. What if it causes permanent organ damage?”
Silas’s gaze turned somber. “Then assign more people to watch her. If she gets out of hand, restrain her.”
“Alright.” Yolande didn’t forget to remind him, “Take care of yourself, too.” “I will.”
After seeing Yolande off, Silas got into his car, his expression freezing over once again.
Noreen had rejected his proposal, which meant that avenue was closed. He had to seek out a new alliance.
So, he dialed Jasmine’s number.
At the café.
Henry Brooke had been seated for less than ten minutes, but he had already checked his watch three times and adjusted his clothes four times.
An inexplicable nervousness gripped him.
When Noreen arrived, he practically jumped up to greet her.
“I’m so sorry. I hit some traffic on the way,” Noreen apologized as she took her seat.
“No, I was just early,” Henry quickly assured her.
“So, what did you want to see me about?” Noreen took a sip of her iced Americano and looked at him.
Henry was staring at her intently. When his gaze accidentally brushed against a faint, undeniable mark
near the collar of her shirt his heart
seized.

He unconsciously gripped his coffee cup, his knuckles turning white as the realization hit him-he was too late.
A suffocating wave of despair washed over him.
Soft jazz played in the background, and a couple at the next table laughed quietly.
But all the noise faded away. His world was left with nothing but a bitter ache.
Who was it?
When did it happen?
He had thought they still had time.
He believed that if he worked hard enough, he would eventually earn the right to stand beside her and confess the feelings he had buried for years.
Only now did he realize the truth.
He had missed his chance.
He was so late he didn’t even have the right to ask her about it.
Henry lowered his eyes, hiding the
storm emotions swirling within
His
voice was hoarse. “It’s
justhadn’t seen you in a wing. I
“When are you heading back to campus?” Noreen asked casually, seemingly
oblivious to his shift in mood.
“Next week.”
He had only been waiting-waiting for the crisis at Winrich to pass, waiting until she no longer needed his help to leave.
“Alright. If you ever need help with your studies, you can always reach out.” Henry forced a stiff smile. “I will.”
Noreen had other errands to run, so she left before even finishing her coffee.
Henry watched her walk away just as his father’s call came through.
“How did it go? Did you talk to her? Did you confess your feelings?”
