Chapter 1160
They were the ones who targeted Claire first, so no one could blame her for snapping.
“I kept such a low profile before that people actually thought I was a pushover,” Claire explained, sticking to her guns.
“If I’m a little more aggressive, it stops people from messing with me.”
Norris nodded in agreement. “It’s certainly one way to handle it.”
Claire had entered the university with the top test scores in the nation. By rejecting the Math Department to join the Pre-Med College, she had drawn intense scrutiny from both sides.
Even if she wanted to lay low, it simply wasn’t an option.
“If I keep dumping food trays on people, I’m confident it’ll save me a lot of trouble in the long run.”
Norris didn’t see an issue with her methods.
As long as she was happy.
But he still pressed for the full story. When he found out this entire mess traced back
to Dane, he immediately redirected his annoyance.
“Can Dane not handle his childhood friend?”
“Maybe you should just break the engagement. You’re still young; you’ll find someone far better later on.”
Dane seemed to attract the most exhausting, obnoxious women.
Claire vehemently disagreed.
“Why should I break it off?”
“They want me to walk away so they can swoop in and take him. I’m not giving them the satisfaction!”
Norris sighed.
He had originally wanted to persuade her to drop the dead weight, but it seemed she was determined to prove a point.
“Do you really think Dane is that great?”
Norris didn’t want to micromanage his sister’s love life.
If she genuinely liked the guy, then they could be together.
But he worried she didn’t actually know what she wanted, and was only going along
with the marriage because the family had arranged it.
What if she met someone she truly loved later on and just ran away, exactly like their aunt had?
“Norris, tell me one thing that’s wrong with Dane.”
Put on the spot, Norris was suddenly speechless.
He couldn’t actually find a single flaw in the man.
Dane’s excellence was undeniable.
He was brilliant, and his background perfectly matched The Churchill family.
They were practically equals in every societal metric.
Norris simply wanted his sister to be cautious so she wouldn’t regret her choices.
His main concern was Dane’s

Would he actually be a good husband?
Norris wasn’t convinced.
“You know there’s nothing wrong

Claire’s logic left Norris completely stumped again.
“If you really want to marry him, then don’t let anyone sabotage it.”
“I’ll warn him myself. He needs to

Norris planned to pull Dane aside for a man-to-man conversation.
If his sister didn’t like the guy, they could simply cancel the wedding.
But since she was clearly attached to him, breaking the engagement was off the table.
From now on, they had to keep a close eye on Dane and mold him into the perfect partner for her.
“Norris, Norris!” Claire quickly interrupted. “Don’t. Stay out of it.”
“I’ll talk to him myself.”
“If an overprotective brother starts lecturing Dane, it changes the entire dynamic.”
“It’s not a big deal. You don’t need to ride in on a white horse for this.”
Claire was genuinely terrified he would blow the situation out of proportion.
After all, Norris took his role as an older brother incredibly seriously.
