Chapter 1169

It was Yanis Mercer.

“Let them dance. It’s boring anyway,” Zara brushed it off without a care.

She was the star of the night, but she really didn’t mind if everyone else did their own thing.

She had zero interest in dancing.

She’d done enough of it over the years.

Maybe hanging out with Claire and the others had rubbed off on her.

She felt like she had matured considerably.

“You’re the host, and you’re hiding outside. Isn’t that a bit rude?”

Yanis had been inside entertaining guests on her behalf, while she had practically vanished.

Seeing Yanis, Claire suddenly remembered this was the guy Skylar had fallen for at first sight.

She nudged Skylar. “Yanis is here. Aren’t you excited?”

Skylar pouted. “I’ll tell you later.”

Alright, clearly there was some drama she had missed.

Claire’s gaze swept over Yanis, but she kept quiet.

He was wearing a sharp, silver-white casual suit today. Combined with his striking, androgynous features, it was genuinely hard to look away.

Catching Claire’s eye, Yanis nodded at her and offered a charming smile.

Honestly, if Yanis ever wanted to enter the entertainment industry, there would be a

line out the door of executives eager to make him a star.

“Long time no see, Yanis. You’re looking even more handsome,” Claire complimented him with a smile.

Yanis was highly confident in his looks. His lips curved up. “Has Claire fallen under my spell too?”

Claire smiled back. “Absolutely.”

Yanis didn’t take it seriously.

He could tell at a glance that Claire wasn’t the type of girl easily swept off her feet, and he knew better than to cross that line.

“Come inside, girls. The pastry chef we hired is amazing, the desserts are incredible.”

“I know you’ll love them.”

Yanis played the perfect host, acting as if he owned the place.

Zara didn’t feel like he was overstepping at all.

Instead, she followed his lead and urged everyone inside for a bite.

Since the guest list consisted entirely of Zara’s friends and

classmates, her parents had found it too dull and opted to go out on a date instead

The house was packed with young people, and the music in the living room was blasting.

It was obvious that Zara’s usual crowd was wild and uninhibited.

Seeing Zara walk in with three other girls, a few people waved casually.

Lex suddenly recalled Zoe mentioning that Zara didn’t have friends like them.

It was true. The heiress’s friends clearly all belonged to the same elite social circle.

Ordinary college students like them would have never been able to blend into this crowd before.

“Don’t just stand there, grab whatever you want to eat and play whatever you want.” Small tables were set up around the living room, scattered with card games.

Another group was deeply engrossed in a murder mystery game.

Everyone was doing their own thing, completely unbothered by whether Zara was even in the room.

Claire took one look around and

These relationships were entirely plastic.

They were just here to fill the room and make the party look good.

Because of that, none of them actually cared about Zara’s feelings, content to entertain themselves.

Guessing what Claire was thinking, Zara led them over to a quiet sofa and grabbed them some food and drinks.

“Kind of boring, isn’t it?”

Claire didn’t say anything, but her silence was agreement enough.

Skylar and Lex didn’t know how to respond.

Was it boring? They had no idea how these parties were supposed to go.

Shouldn’t a birthday party just be whatever Zara enjoyed?

“I used to love the noise, but today k realized… I don’t actually like it that much,” Zara admitted, analyzing herself,

Claire glanced at her. “That’s fine. It just means you’re growing up.”
