Chapter 1457

The sales associate was highly perceptive. She quickly noticed that Claire was just browsing.

Sloane, on the other hand, was on a mission for the spring arrivals.

So, the associate focused her attention on showing pieces to Sloane, only

occasionally making polite conversation with Claire.

She was attentive without being overbearing, and she didn’t leave anyone feeling ignored.

She was a smart associate, and her styling suggestions showed genuine flair.

She was a sharp thinker.

Claire mentally gave the associate a glowing review, hoping she’d go far.

With her work ethic, a store manager position wasn’t out of reach.

After all, SUNNY was expanding rapidly, aiming to open branches in every VIA Metropolis across Solenia.

“How does this look?”

Sloane asked, stepping out in a new spring dress. She thought it looked great.

Though she worried her holiday eating had given her a slight tummy.

A beauty like her couldn’t have a tummy!

She silently vowed to go on a diet immediately.

Honestly, she didn’t even need to diet; the grueling medical school curriculum burned enough calories.

As long as she didn’t binge eat, her youthful metabolism would keep her in shape.

After all, she was young and had a great figure.

“It looks beautiful.” Claire wasn’t just hyping up her own brand’s clothing.

It genuinely looked stunning.

Sloane was naturally pretty-maybe not jaw-droppingly gorgeous, but she had great elegance and knew how to dress for her body type.

The clothes naturally elevated her look.

“I’ll take this one, then. Why aren’t you picking anything out?” Sloane asked, finalizing her choice and turning her attention to Claire.

Claire smiled helplessly. “I have plenty of clothes. I’m not planning on buying anything right now.”

“But SUNNY’s clothes are stunning, and they sell out so fast. If you don’t grab them now, they’ll be gone.”

“Plus, these are the latest arrivals.”

Sloane wanted to buy Claire a gift to show her sincerity in building their friendship, especially since they used to clash.

She figured Claire might still be holding a grudge.

“I already have all of these,” Claire admitted.

Impossible.

Sloane didn’t believe her for a second.

“Claire, when I say it’s my treat, I mean it. You don’t have to be so polite.”

It was making her feel awkward.

Claire didn’t know what else to say. “It’s not that I don’t want them. Look for yourself.”

She pulled out her phone and showed Sloane a photo of her

walk-in closet that Victoria Churc

had sent her

In the past, Jenny would personally deliver her clothes. Now that SUNNY’S new line was out

everything was skippe

everything was shipped directly to her home.

Her apartment didn’t have the space, so the clothes went straight to the courtyard house.

Her bedroom there had a massive walk-in closet that accommodated the influx of garments.

Alongside the pieces prepared by Victoria and Eleanor Churchill, it was absolutely stuffed.

Looking at the photo, Sloane felt a sudden, sharp pang of jealousy.

She hesitated. “You… you have quite the collection.”

Claire had several limited-edition pieces that Sloane hadn’t been able to score or hadn’t been willing

What was going on?

This wasn’t what she expected at all.

“Yeah.” What else could Claire do?

She could never wear them all!

But Jenny and her aunts loved playing dress-up with her.

“Does your family run a boutique or something?” Sloane asked curiously.

Claire paused. “…These are my personal clothes.”

“Then what’s your relationship with the owner of SUNNY?”

Sloane’s next question nearly made Claire choke.

For a split second, Claire wondered if her secret identity had been blown.

But then Sloane added, “Are you the owner’s secret daughter?”

Really? That was it?

Claire realized she had panicked for nothing.

“I’m definitely not the owner’s daughter. I have my own parents, biological ones!”
