Chapter 1511
[ 596 words ]
“Rory James and Jace James, reporting to the Clan Successor!”
Claire was slightly taken aback by the title.
“Are you from the James family as well?”
She had never seen either of them back in The James Village.
Rory, the stern-faced woman, replied, “You haven’t seen us because we belong to a branch family.”
“We don’t live in the village.”
That explained it.
Claire decided not to ask too many questions in front of the others.
Silas and Elias, however, were burning with curiosity about her background.
Wasn’t she just a girl from the countryside?
Why was she being addressed as a ‘Clan Successor’?
Her rural family must have some serious hidden depth if they could produce bodyguards like these.
They were young, yet their combat skills were clearly top-tier.
If they could be recruited into the department…
Little did Claire know, Silas was already scheming to poach her bodyguards after just one glance.
With the team fully assembled, they wasted no time and headed straight for their destination.
The Aila Highlands sat at the border of five counties, boasting an elevation of over ten thousand feet and an eighty-five percent forest coverage rate.
The peaks were perpetually shrouded in thick mist. Aside from a few developed tourist zones, the region was strictly off-limits to humans.
It was terrifyingly easy to get lost in those woods.
Locals called it a ghost mountain-easy to enter, impossible to leave.
Every year, reckless thrill-seekers ventured into the highlands. Very few made it back out alive.
When the local military outpost heard that Silas’s team was planning to go in, they vehemently opposed the idea.
One of the officers, who seemed to be an old comrade of Silas, tried fiercely to talk him out of it.
“Hawk, I know you’ve got a mission, but it’s one thing for soldiers to go in. Taking civilians is a death sentence.”
“If you were sticking to the developed areas, fine. But you’re heading straight into the uncharted zones.”
“Those places are forbidden for a reason.”
“Never mind outsiders, even the locals wouldn’t dare step foot in there.”
“Even if that flower you’re looking for there, no one could

it out alive. Are you sure your accurate?
The officer’s name was Commander Miller.
He had reportedly been stationed there for over a decade.
He had enlisted when he was just a teenager.
He had racked up countless accolades, repeatedly assisting police in capturing drug runners at the border.
His body was riddled with old, untreated injuries, leaving him in chronic poor health. But he was tough as nails and absolutely despised doctors.
“Miller, I’m not dragging civilians in for a joyride. You’ll understand once you see it.”
Silas led Commander Miller to the transport vehicle to show him the four poisoned
men.
Their condition was deteriorating rapidly. If Claire and Elias hadn’t been taking turns with the
acupuncture, the pain wouldve
driven them entirely feral by now.
Silas not only showed him the agonizing state of his men but also played the footage of the initial psychotic breaks.
“Now you see why we have to find the Dreamweed.”
“It’s not just for the antidote.”
They were also terrified that someone was cultivating the plant on a massive scale.
The growing conditions for Dreamweed were incredibly harsh.
The only region in Solenia suitable for its growth was Montara.
Someone had once spotted the plant in The Aila Highlands, which was why they had rushed straight here.
“I understand.” Seeing the torment of his fellow soldiers, Commander Miller realized the mission was non-negotiable.
But he had one condition. “I’m going with you. I’ll lead the team myself!”
He knew ‘Hawk’ held a high-ranking position, and he couldn’t let his old friend risk his life.
Then there were the two doctors, a man and a woman, both looking incredibly soft and fragile.
