Chapter 1692

According to them, they had brought their own bodyguards.
The bodyguards had more than enough muscle. The sisters were beautiful enough that sweet-talking those meatheads into doing heavy lifting would be effortless.
“We need a test subject.”
Flora’s expression darkened. What kind of ‘medicine’? Were they cooking narcotics?
The cartels these days were bold, willing to bleed anyone dry for a dollar!
While she dealt in flesh, she drew a hard line at pushing that garbage!
Over the years, plenty of dealers had tried to use her boys and girls to hook clients, but Flora had maintained an ironclad defense.
In her eyes, once you touched that stuff, your life was over.
The clients wouldn’t have money to spend on her girls, and worse, her girls might get hooked and ruin themselves.
Flora might have been greedy, but she had a strict code of ethics.
She knew exactly where to draw the line.
If these people were actually cartel chemists, she would never hand her ‘children’ over to them.
“Don’t misunderstand, Flora. We are licensed traditional medicine doctors.”
Claire handed her a pristine business card.
“You can run a background check. Our company manufactures and sells legitimate medicinal compounds. And given your line of work, you must have a high demand for health supplements, right?”
“With the grueling hours you all keep, kidney health is paramount.”
Claire spun the lie effortlessly.
Flora listened, half-confused. She didn’t care about kidney supplements, but Claire hinted that if they partnered up, Flora could get a commission.
She didn’t care about medicine, but she cared deeply about money!
“Some of my regulars… well, they come down here on business trips and always book a room… but honestly, they really can’t perform.”
“If you have something that actually boosts stamina, I’d take a batch.”
If this little girl claimed to be from a pharmaceutical company and handled R&D, she must be the real deal, right?
Claire immediately caught on. Flora was testing her.
“Honestly, instead of taking pills, medicinal liquors are much more effective, and
they sell for a massive premium.”
“I’m only here to source raw
ingredients this trip, so I don’t have
any on
hand. Otherwise, I have let you try it on that pretty boy of yours.”
“For someone as fundamentally useless as him, my formula could turn him into a machine.”
Claire sold it perfectly.
“Flora, you’ve been working the night shift in this industry for years. Your kidneys must be taking a beating, right?”
“Have you noticed your hair thinning out aggressively?”
“If you’re willing, I can do an acupuncture session on you right now. I guarantee you’ll have the best sleep of your life tonight. Once you feel the results, you won’t doubt a word I say.”
“But in exchange, you have to find me exactly what I’m looking for.”
Flora hesitated. It was true; years of nocturnal living had wrecked her
health Her hair was thine
badly she was contemplating a wig
Claire had hit the nail squarely on the head.
But Flora was still paranoid that Lily and her sister might be cartel chemists.
Who knew what kind of poison could be laced on those needles?
“What exactly are you looking for?” Flora finally cracked, unable to resist the bait.
“Didn’t I tell you? I need a human test subject.”
“We’re here to purchase restricted botanical extracts. They’re heavily regulated back home, but the laws are lax here.”
“I’m strictly using them to synthesize a highly potent coagulant.”
“To perfect the formula, I need to test it on a live subject. In medicine, a fraction of
an error can be fatal.”
Claire spoke with deadpan seriousness.
