Chapter 1731
[ 610 words ]
Ewan Harding looked rough around the edges compared to the other man.
Claire wondered if it was because he had been letting himself go over the past three years, making him look older.
She couldn’t help but compare the two of them.
Quentin Young thanked Ewan for coming to visit him, but when he heard Ewan wanted to exchange experiences about having broken legs, he was at a loss for words.
“You shouldn’t give up. I used to be incredibly depressed because I couldn’t find a doctor who could help me stand again…”
Ewan was actually trying to counsel him.
Quentin listened, hesitating to speak.
“Um, sorry to interrupt, but Quentin’s legs just need proper physical therapy, and he’ll recover,” Yolande had to explain, seeing how serious Ewan was.
She could tell Ewan had completely misunderstood the situation.
Ewan paused, then smiled apologetically. “My bad. I thought Quentin was in the same boat as me.”
“Since your legs aren’t too seriously injured, I guess you don’t need my advice.”
Quentin felt a bit embarrassed, remembering that Ewan was the one who genuinely couldn’t stand.
“It’s fine. Hearing what you said actually gave me a lot of motivation.” Despite his words, he still seemed downcast.
For him, the ability to stand and walk meant nothing if he could never dance again. The thought of losing his passion was worse than lifelong paralysis.
But he couldn’t exactly complain about his dissatisfaction in front of a man who couldn’t walk at all.
“Will his legs suffer any permanent effects after he recovers?”
Having gone through severe depression himself, Ewan knew exactly what Quentin was feeling.
He spotted Quentin’s abnormal mood at a glance, which was why he had initially assumed Quentin would be wheelchair-bound for life, just like him.
“There will be some impact,” Yolande admitted, worried that Quentin might completely shut down.
“If he doesn’t recover well, he might never be able to dance again.”
For a passionate dance major, it was a devastating blow.
If he couldn’t dance, what would happen to his future?
“That’s a real shame.” Ewan thought of his own past. He hadn’t been able to
continue college because he couldn’t walk anymore.
Although the university had been willing to let him change majors, he had been drowning in despair and had given up on himself.
Still, the school had retained his student status, allowing him to seek treatment first and return later.
It was hard to say how long they would hold his spot, but it was already a massive favor from the university.
His silence made Yolande realize that Ewan had been an exceptional student too, even accepted into the prestigious National Defense University.
But he had given it all up because of his shattered legs.
“Don’t be so depressed, Quentin. My cousin is an incredible doctor. She might be able to help you recover!”
She didn’t dare promise that Claire could completely cure Quentin and get him back on stage.
What if she couldn’t? Wouldn’t that be setting her cousin up for failure?
Yolande looked at Claire with pleading eyes, hoping she would agree to take a look.
With Yolande asking, Claire couldn’t possibly refuse.
“Yolande, I know you’re trying to
help, but your cousin… It’s not that I don’t believe her, but the head orthopedic specialist here has already examined me he said the chances of a full recovery are very low.”

In truth, he just didn’t believe in Claire.
She was far too young for her medical skills to be convincing.
“I’ve heard about her medical
prowess at school before, but met Situation Choo sighed. can
è a look, but please don’t force it.”
Even though he didn’t believe in Claire, he didn’t want to disappoint Yolande either.
“Look at what? Randall already said your legs will have lasting side effects. What’s the point of letting a little girl look at them?”
