Chapter 1734

She refused to allow any unpredictable variables, especially Claire!
“This has nothing to do with you. Thank you for taking care of me these past few days, but the hospital staff is enough. You’re a girl; it’s inconvenient anyway!”
“I’ll call my mom and ask her to buy you a ticket home.”
Quentin’s tone hardened.
Evie was obviously furious. “I’m not going back! Why should I?”
“Then get out of the room!” The coldness in Quentin’s eyes was a stark contrast to
the shy demeanor he had shown Ewan earlier.
Claire watched with interest, noting that Quentin seemed genuinely repulsed by Evie.
They definitely weren’t an engaged couple.
At the very least, Quentin refused to acknowledge it.
“Fine, I’ll leave! I told you not to let her examine you, but you won’t listen. She’s not even a real doctor. If something goes wrong, can she take responsibility?”
Evie cast a disdainful look at Claire.
Quentin didn’t want to waste another breath on her.
“Get out,” he repeated, making his stance clear.
This time, Evie finally stormed out, but not before issuing a parting threat. “Don’t get too comfortable!”
As soon as she was outside, she called Quentin’s mother. Whatever she said, the people in the room couldn’t hear.
Claire had only intended to examine Quentin for Yolande’s sake, but now she was losing interest entirely.
“Quentin, your alleged fiancée has a point. I’m just a student. It would be bad if I accidentally caused a secondary injury.”
“Maybe you should look for a more experienced doctor.”
“Just because the head doctor here can’t do it doesn’t mean no one else can. Some doctors specialize in post-op recovery.”
Claire offered the advice sincerely.
Quentin could tell she was backing out because of Evie’s behavior.
He offered a bitter smile and
aited. “Evie isn’t my fianet
but
my fault you got yelled &
no reason
“I’m sorry, Yolande,” he added, looking deeply apologetic.
“It’s fine. She was incredibly rude, but at least she acknowledged that I’m gorgeous.”
“I’ll just take it as a compliment.”
“I’ll just pushover, but she
Yolande wasn’t
diant to cause trouble for 10%
dance partner either. Content”
yelmet
He was hospitalized, his parents weren’t around, and this crazy was his only caretaker. If Evie. actually stormed off would yolande have to step in
She had zero desire to play nursemaid to a male classmate.
“I genuinely believe in you, and I trust Claire. Please, take a look,” Quentin pleaded.
He was the one who had doubted her earlier, and now he was the one begging for her help.
It was obvious he was trying to save face for both women.
Since he practically begged, Claire reluctantly examined his legs.
“The surgery was handled well.” Expected, since a top orthopedic specialist had performed it.
“I do have a specific acupuncture method and a medicinal ointment that can aid your recovery.”
“But I can’t guarantee how much functionality you’ll regain.”
“Also, my fees are not cheap,” Claire warned him upfront.
One look at Ewan’s case was enough to prove that.
However, Quentin’s condition was much simpler than Ewan’s.
For Claire, this was a walk in the park.
Sometimes, the rehabilitation process was far more complicated than the surgery itself.
As for whether he could dance again after recovering, even the specialists couldn’t say for sure.
Claire had a specialized regimen. Although his situation differed from Ewan’s, practice makes perfect.
