Chapter 1805
[ 549 words ]
Professor Warner jumped in to lighten the mood. “Are you only seeing Norris? Am I invisible?”
Honoria quickly explained, “No, of course not. I just hadn’t gotten around to greeting you yet.”
“You’re so handsome and charming. You’re the center of attention wherever you go. How could I possibly miss you?”
Professor Warner chuckled. “I like hearing that, but I know where I stand.”
“I might look handsome on my own, but standing next to Norris? I’m just the sidekick wherever we go.”
Professor Warner was a man who loved stating the brutal truth.
Honoria’s smile didn’t falter. “How can you say that? Everyone has their own
strengths. I definitely don’t see you as a sidekick.”
Professor Warner knew exactly how empty her flattery was.
But looks were given by parents, and he wasn’t going to feel insecure just because he wasn’t a supermodel.
As long as he wasn’t standing next to Norris, he was still a handsome guy compared to the average overly confident man.
“You’re right about that.”
He had no desire to chat with Honoria in the doorway.
Couldn’t she see that Norris and Claire were already losing patience?
Though neither of them said anything, their gaze wandering to the ceiling and the floor made it glaringly obvious.
“Well, maybe we should head inside. Blocking the doorway isn’t exactly ideal.”
Valerie appropriately offered the suggestion.
Honoria suddenly remembered her uncle was waiting upstairs and realized she couldn’t keep stalling them.
Her uncle was strict about everything except spoiling his daughter.
If they delayed any longer, he might come down to see what was taking so long.
“Right this way,” Honoria said, then glanced at Claire. “And you too, Claire.” Claire raised an eyebrow.
She could tell Honoria’s attitude toward her was noticeably less friendly than it was toward the two professors.
But she was pretty sure she hadn’t done anything to cross the woman.
What was going on with this teacher? Was she treating her like an imaginary rival?
As Honoria led the two men forward, Valerie hung back to walk with Claire.
Claire casually asked, “Hey, does anyone at school know you and Honoria are cousins?”
“You don’t look much alike. Are your moms sisters?”
Usually, if both girls took after their mothers, there would be some resemblance between cousins.
However, Valerie looked exactly like her dad, and Honoria favored her father.
So, if they walked down the street together, no one would ever suspect they were related.
“Yeah, her mom is my aunt.”
“Our relatives say we looked a bit alike when we were kids, but as we grew up, we took after our dads.”

“Where did she study abroad?”
Claire didn’t know much about Honoria.
She only knew she had returned from studying overseas to teach, had connections,
and came from a wealthy background.
No wonder she had locked her sights on Norris—she probably thought their family backgrounds were a perfect match.
“Sundara.”
Valerie lowered her voice. “Honestly,
I don’t like Sundara at all, but she
loves it she actually had a huge falling out with the family to go study there.”
“After she came back, something, weird happened. My aunt got drunk once and got into a massive Screaming match with her. She said that because she went to Sundara, she was no longer her daughter.”
“She kept screaming at Honoria to give her daughter back.”
“How crazy is that? Everyone said my aunt was just being overly paranoid.”
