Chapter 1801
[ 587 words ]
Claire instinctively dodged, and Bianca missed her completely.
Bianca stared at Claire in astonishment, entirely unprepared for her to move out of
the way.
Dane’s fiancée was so unkind. What exactly did he see in her?
Seeing Bianca look at her as if she were a heartless cheater, Claire almost thought she was Yanni Wheeler for a second.
The dinner meeting between Dane, Logan Hayes, and Dewitt had been
rescheduled, so Claire simply tagged along.
Her main goal was to enjoy the free food and drinks. While they discussed business, she didn’t interject a single word.
However, she did manage to hear some gossip about Yanni from Logan.
It turned out Yanni had possessed a fiancée all along. He was just playing around
on the outside and never took Bianca seriously.
Yet, Bianca thought she was clever enough to get pregnant.
If there was one thing wealthy families didn’t lack, it was illegitimate children.
Would Yanni care about the baby in her belly?
If the baby had belonged to her ex-boyfriend, he might have been conflicted.
Unfortunately, Bianca clearly knew the child was Yanni’s.
She had still tried to use the baby to pry open the doors to the Wheeler family, but how could that ever work?
“Miss Bianca, we don’t know each other well, and I don’t think I can help you with anything.”
Claire was telling the truth.
Bianca offered a tragic smile. “I know you look down on me.”
“You aren’t me. You haven’t lived my life, so it’s perfectly normal that you can’t understand.”
“You were born lucky. Your fiancé is one of the most eligible bachelors in Cabinda.”
“Unlike me, who grew up in the middle of nowhere. Every step I took toward the outside world was filled with grueling hardship.”
“I just didn’t want my child to repeat my mistakes. I’m not some unforgivable monster.”
“I was only thinking about the future. Everyone has to look out for themselves, right?”
Claire hadn’t expected Bianca to still be lecturing her on morality at a time like this.
And what kind of twisted logic was she spouting? Were her values completely warped?
“I’m not here to judge whether you’re right or wrong,” Claire interrupted her endless rambling.
“You have your own way of living, and it has nothing to do with me.”
Claire’s sheer indifference exceeded Bianca’s expectations.
Bianca knew her miserable t

Why could Claire brush it off so lightly? Because she truly couldn’t empathize.
After all, Claire had always lived in the clouds, while Bianca was stuck in the mud.
“I just wanted to ask you to take me to see my ex.”
“I can’t reach him right now, and he moved.”
Claire was surprised. She suspected the man had already left the country.

Now that Bianca couldn’t track him down, she was desperately grasping at straws.
“And why do you think I can contact him?”
“I’m his boss’s fiancée, not his.”
Claire’s blunt words choked the life out of Bianca’s argument.
Honestly, Claire’s logic was flawless, but Bianca was far past the point of reasoning.
“You’re Dane’s fiancée. You can always ask him about my ex’s whereabouts.”
“Please, Claire. I know I was wrong. Just let me see him one last time. I really want to apologize to him.”
Claire watched Bianca in silence, waiting for her performance to end.
As Bianca cried, she slowly ran out of steam.
Only when she stopped crying did Claire ally tell her, “He has a
