Chapter 1619
[ 590 words ]
By the time Yanis returned with the vinegar, Dane still hadn’t arrived.
He marched straight to the kitchen and asked Claire why she hadn’t just made Dane buy it on his way.
Claire looked at him like he was an idiot. “I forgot.”
Yanis completely refused to believe that excuse.
Claire?
She couldn’t even be bothered to explain it to him.
Zara and Reid were the only couple in the living room, and Yanis was too dense to realize he was violently third-wheeling them.
If she didn’t send him on an errand, who else was she supposed to send?
“Zara and Reid finally get a moment to themselves, and you’re just standing there glaring at them like a floodlight. What is wrong with you?”
Ever since Skylar had rationally crushed her crush on Yanis, she had zero filter around him.
She didn’t care if Yanis got annoyed; her own entertainment came first.
So, she roasted him without hesitation.
Yanis genuinely hadn’t realized he was intruding.
But hearing Skylar spell it out made him freeze.
He and Zara were childhood friends; they had known each other since elementary school.
He had always just viewed her as one of the guys.
But the reality was, Zara was a woman, and she was currently sitting next to her fiancé.
Should he start keeping his distance?
At the very least, he shouldn’t be so casual when her fiancé was sitting right there.
Realizing his mistake, Yanis raised his hands in surrender and asked if there was anything else he could do in the kitchen.
Honestly, there wasn’t much left to prep.
The premium seafood had arrived fully cleaned and prepped.
Since the delivery service knew rich college kids hated getting their hands dirty, they had done all the hard work before dropping it off.
“Tell you what, go carve up a fruit platter. Your staff dropped off a mountain of it earlier.”
Claire had just wanted to give him busywork to keep him out of the living room.
But Yanis took the assignment incredibly seriously.
“Say no more. I’m on it.”
He grabbed the most expensive, visually stunning platter from Claire’s cabinets.
Yanis carried a pile of fruit to the dining table and went to work.
By the time the savory broth was bubbling and filling the room with
bu spicy aroma, Yanis had finished

the fruit platter
He actually knew how to carve fruit The platter looked like it had been prepared by someone who had
spent a decade working en
at a
Michelin star restaurant.
“I learned this from an old guy who’s a master sculptor.”
Yanis looked incredibly smug as he saw the shock on Claire’s face. “Not bad, right?”
The man he knew was a legendary jade carver whose precision was unmatched.
When Yanis first started practicing, the master made him use fruit to learn knife control.
Because of that, his fruit carving skills were absolutely god-tier.
Forget a fancy restaurant-he could easily work at a five-star hotel!
“That is seriously impressive.”
Claire gave him a thumbs-up.
Skylar rushed out to look. “Wow, that’s gorgeous!”
“I can’t believe a rich boy like you can actually do something this delicate.”
“Are you sure you didn’t just sneak out and buy this while we weren’t looking?” Yanis shot her a glare. “You vastly underestimate me.”
“I can carve a flower out of a potato if I wanted to. Why would I buy this?”
To prove his point, Yanis grabbed a discarded piece of watermelon rind and expertly carved it into a flaw rose.

He tossed it to Skylar. “See? Believe me now?”
Skylar’s eyes widened. “Your hands are actual magic.”
“How do you even do that?”
“Can I have your hands? I seriously want hands that talented!”
Skylar practically grabbed his hand to inspect it.
Yanis instantly snatched his hand back. “Keep dreaming!”
