Chapter 1725
[ 687 words ]
“You know, Yorick, I actually think you’d thrive in the entertainment industry,” Claire casually.
said
The sudden shift in topic caught him off guard.
Yorick’s head snapped up, a flicker of genuine hope in his eyes. “You really think so?”
People had suggested he try acting before, and he had always secretly believed he had the looks for it.
But he was calculating.
He figured that if he secured a spot in the prestigious national dance company first, he could transition to television as a highly respected artist rather than just another desperate aspiring idol.
With that kind of elite pedigree, no one would ever care that he came from a poor background.
But breaking into the scene was notoriously difficult.
Even the greatest talent in the world needed a wealthy patron to pull the right strings.
That was exactly why he had been circling Yolande and her deep family pockets.
And from the rumors he’d heard, Claire held an even higher status within The Churchill Family than Yolande did.
She might technically be a granddaughter, but she was considered the true core of the family’s legacy.
Sticking close to Yolande had allowed him to quietly dig up all this information.
If Claire was willing to back him, he knew he would be set for life.
He stared at Claire, practically vibrating with anticipation.
Claire offered a serene smile. “Absolutely. You’ve got skin as thick as a brick wall and you’re constantly scheming. You’re practically tailor-made for reality TV.” “You’ve got a decent face, too. You might just act your way to an Oscar one day.”
The hopeful smile slid right off Yorick’s face, his carefully crafted mask slipping. “Do you have a problem with me, Claire?”
Claire shook her head innocently. “Not at all. I genuinely believe in your potential.”
“By the way, can you sing? If you’ve got the moves but no vocals, you should definitely sign up for some lessons. You could crush it on one of those survival shows.”
“You debut as an idol, conveniently let slip that you graduated from The Cabinda University and narrowly missed the national dance company, and rebrand yourself as the ultimate underdog chasing his dreams.”
“Then you transition into acting. It’s the perfect pipeline.”
“Can’t you just see the millions of dollars raining down right now?”
Yorick was completely speechless. He had no idea what expression to even make.
Her strategy was actually flawless, but the entire blueprint relied on him having a powerful financial backer.
Without one, he’d just be another face in the crowd grinding himself into dust for nothing.
He had already learned that lesson the hard way.
Just look at this international competition.
He had poured his soul into the routine, only to be cast aside for a girl with family connections.
In Yorick’s mind, Yolande was nothing more than a privileged nepo baby.
And he was the tragic, overlooked genius whose efforts were never rewarded.
“You make it sound so easy, but it’s completely unrealistic,” he finally muttered.
“I’d prefer to secure a stable position first. Though, if I happened to meet the right agent willing to sign me wouldn’t turn down the entertainment route.”
“Any interest in starting a talent agency yourself?”
“If you signed me, I promise I’d never forget where I came from once I bit it bige delivered the fine with a charming laugh, as it were just a joke.
But Claire knew exactly what this snake was doing. He was testing the waters. She glanced at Yolande, who looked thoroughly unimpressed, confirming she had absolutely zero romantic interest in the guy.
Thank God. Claire had been debating whether she needed to actively sabotage the relationship.
There was no way their family would

Visibly jealous of her sugge
“Sorry, Yorick. I don’t have any plans to play Hollywood agent. But I’m sure someone
as resourceful as you will figure it out.”
“I hear there’s a new idol audition show starting up soon. Why don’t you just go sign
up?”
“You never know when you might catch a talent scout’s eye, right?”
With Claire shooting him down that smoothly, pushing any further would only make him look pathetic.
He forced a gracious smile and thanked her for the advice.
Claire gave them a quick wave. “Anyway, I’ve got places to be. See you guys.”
