Chapter 1760
[ 584 words ]
“I actually made a reservation at a restaurant. You all must be starving by now, right?”
Claire had planned for everything.
While Queenie was desperate to see her grandson, knowing his life wasn’t in immediate danger made her realize how thoroughly exhausted she was. She felt a bit self-conscious about meeting her daughter-in-law and grandson while looking so disheveled.
She decided to accept Claire’s thoughtful gesture: dinner first, then a proper rest at the hotel.
She would tackle the hospital first thing in the morning.
The restaurant Claire chose was conveniently close to the hotel, and she had kept it elegant but low-key, knowing Queenie probably wouldn’t have the appetite for an extravagant feast.
Neither of the older women liked airplane food, so they happily snacked on the pastries Claire had brought in the car.
Queenie’s security detail followed closely behind Claire’s vehicle in a company- issued SUV.
While driving, Claire gave Tilda a quick call to let her know she couldn’t make it tonight.
“My grandmother just flew into Cabinda out of nowhere. I’m really sorry to cancel on you, Tilda.”
“Oh, don’t worry about it at all,” Tilda replied smoothly. “We’ll catch up another time. Next time we get together, I’ll treat both grandmothers to a proper welcome dinner.” Tilda wasn’t one to pry, so she didn’t ask what had brought Pandora to the city so suddenly.
After hanging up, Claire focused on the road.
In the back seat, Queenie and Pandora finished their snacks and closed their eyes to rest.
Claire didn’t wake them until they were pulling up to the restaurant near the hotel.
The food wasn’t the main event; the priority was eating quickly so they could crash at the hotel.
After dinner, Claire guided the older women and their imposing security detail into the hotel lobby. At that exact moment, Evie and Yvette were just walking in.
The moment Evie spotted Claire, her face contorted.
She cursed silently. Why was this girl haunting her every move?
Wasn’t she supposed to be a student at The Cabinda University?
Why was she booking rooms at a hotel near the hospital?
Was her fiancé a patient or something?
Evie’s mind churned with spiteful thoughts.
“Evie?”
Noticing Evie freeze at the entrance, Yvette gently called out to her.
Evie snapped back to reality. “It’s nothing, Yvette. Let’s head inside.”
But Yvette had already followed Evie’s gaze.
As Yvette spotted Claire, Claire noticed her as well.
The two exchanged polite, friendly nods.
Yvette had no idea who Claire really was, but the entourage surrounding the girl screamed elite.
One elderly woman in particular radiated an intense, undeniable aura of wealth and authority.

generational titans.
Intimidated, she instinctively ducked into the lobby, eager to avoid any interaction.
“Claire, do you know that woman who just walked in?”
Queenie had caught the brief exchange of nods.
Not fully grasping the weight of the question, Claire nodded honestly. “Yes. She’s
the mother of an upperclassman.”
“An upperclassman?” Queenie looked at Claire, surprised.
“Well, to be exact, he’s my cousin’s classmate. They’re dance partners.”
“He broke his leg, and I think his mother flew in to take care of him.”
“Oh, right. I think he’s originally from Montara too…”
Claire stopped mid-sentence as a realization hit her like a freight train.
“Oh my god. It couldn’t be that much of a coincidence, could it? Is he your grandson?”
Was Quentin Young really the lucky guy inheriting billions of dollars?
