Chapter 1877
[ 640 words ]
Xavier looked incredibly smug.
Ever since they realized Owen was in love with Seraphina, the rift between the two men had vanished, but that certainly didn’t stop them from mercilessly mocking each other.
They both essentially thought the other had terrible taste in women.
Xavier looked down on Seraphina; just like her quiet demeanor, she was far too introverted.
Meanwhile, Owen despised Jocelyn for acting too much like a helpless, innocent victim.
It was as if everyone else was always at fault while she had done nothing wrong, playing the blameless saint.
Owen hated the woman, yet Xavier fiercely defended her at every turn.
Claire found it quite entertaining watching Owen and Xavier bicker.
During the hot pot meal, she didn’t even have to lift a finger. Norris was incredibly attentive and took care of everything.
Claire ate to her heart’s content, completely flushing the blandness of the past few days out of her system.
Eating steaming hot pot in the middle of summer wasn’t exactly the best idea, but the air conditioning in the private room was blasting, and they could order all sorts of ice cream.
With her tastebuds overwhelmed by spicy heat and icy sweetness, Claire ate until she was stuffed. She leaned back in her chair in a food coma.
“Are you done eating, Claire?”
Serena handed a glass of watermelon juice to Claire.
Claire hugged the glass and took a sip. “I’m stuffed. I’m feeling a little sleepy from all the food.”
“Then zone out for a bit.”
Serena left Claire to rest and turned her attention to Owen to discuss business.
Although Owen had invited Norris and Claire to this meal to support Xavier’s restaurant, Serena’s real agenda was to propose a collaboration with Owen. Serena ran a chain of beauty salons, and her clients were constantly raving about the incredible results of Luminate’s Experimental Scar Gel and similar products. However, because their products were nearly impossible to secure, her salons had no reliable supply chain to stock them.
So, as the boss, Serena decided to handle the negotiations with Owen personally.
“Also, I was hoping you could develop an exclusive line of products specifically for our salons.”
Owen glanced at Xavier. “If you want an exclusive line, doesn’t your family already have dedicated production lines?”
Furthermore, The Vance Family

already heavily involved in manufacturing personal care products. The Vance Famity could do it themselves, why come to him?
“No, the main reason is that Luminate’s products are far superior to ours.”
“If Luminate is too busy to handle the manufacturing, we can collaborate.” A sly gleam flashed in Serena’s eyes.
Collaboration was her true objective all along.
She was merely asking Owen politely first to gauge his reaction.
When it came to business matters, Xavier had absolutely zero interest.
He opened a hot pot restaurant purely out of passion.
But if you asked him to get involved in corporate business, he would rather go home
and sleep.
He was a walking
contradiction-capable of running a highly successful hot potrestaurant, yet completely apathetic toward his own family’s empire.
“What kind of collaboration?”
Owen listened with deep interest.
“You provide the formulas, and we handle the manufacturing. How does that sound?”
Serena knew that if she asked them to share their formulas openly, Owen would absolutely refuse.
Plus, the mastermind behind
Luminate was Claire, backed by a specialized team. They were brilliant at independent biomedical research, but skincare was a market they hadn’t fully tapped into yet.
The concept of medicinal cosmetics had existed since ancient times.
But no one had truly perfected it.
If Luminate wasn’t interested, she was prepared to launch it herself.
As long as she had Luminate’s core technology, she was confident she could make
it a massive success.
“While Luminate has currently launched a few highly successful standalone products, the overall brand isn’t mature enough yet.”
“If you hand the manufacturing over to us, I guarantee the profit margins for Luminate won’t be small.”
“The best part is, you won’t have to worry about a thing…”
Serena was incredibly silver-tongued and an exceptional negotiator.
