With that, Matthias supported Celeste as they headed upstairs.
Beck, Caleb, and Kieran watched them leave.
Wynn and Trevor also watched Celeste disappear upstairs.
When Celeste had gotten hurt, Wynn had happened to be looking in her direction. She had clearly seen the panic in Beck, Kieran, and Caleb as they rushed toward her.
But she knew Trevor hadn’t noticed any of that.
When the accident happened, he was in the middle of a conversation. It was only after someone mentioned the commotion that he turned to look.
Thinking of this, Wynn glanced at him.
To her satisfaction, Trevor had already withdrawn his gaze from Celeste and Matthias’s retreating figures. Looking completely indifferent, he simply resumed chatting with the people around him.
A faint smile appeared on Wynn’s lips.
Once Celeste was out of sight, Caleb also looked away.
Jorge walked over and was about to speak, but someone beat him to it and struck up a conversation with Caleb first.
Seeing that it was an old family friend of the Jennings family, Jorge had no choice but to stop himself.
Miles had been chatting with someone else and didn’t see Beck rushing over the moment Celeste was injured.
Not knowing exactly what had happened, he walked over to Beck, glanced at the mess of broken glass on the floor, and then in the direction Celeste had left before asking, “What happened?”
“A child bumped into a waiter. Celeste got caught up in it and suffered a minor injury,” Beck replied.
Miles wasn’t particularly concerned about Celeste.
“Oh,” he said with a dismissive shrug.
After being examined by a doctor, Celeste learned that she had only suffered a mild ankle sprain. It wasn’t serious. Once she changed into a pair of flats, she could walk almost normally again.
After changing into a fresh dress and touching up her makeup, she and Matthias returned to the banquet downstairs.
The moment Philip saw her, he immediately came over.
When he confirmed she was fine, he finally relaxed. “Thank goodness you’re alright.”
Celeste and Matthias both smiled and nodded.
The Locket family and Narcissa hadn’t learned about the accident until later.
Seeing that Celeste was clearly unharmed while Philip fussed over her so much, unda curled her lips “She isn’t even injured. Isn’t everyone making far too big a deal outof this?”
Lilian and Harvey remained silent.
Wynn was also watching Celeste.
She glanced sideways at Trevor and noticed that he had only looked toward Celeste briefly when her return to the banquet attracted. everyone’s attention. Once he saw she was fine, be immediately lost interest and didn’t look her way again.
Knowing Celeste was alright, Beck, Kieran, and Caleb all breathed a sigh of relief.
Kieran immediately headed over to her.
Beck, however, stayed where he was. He didn’t have a suitable reason or the right relationship to approach Celeste and check on her again.
Just then, Caleb had finished his conversation and was about to go greet Celeste when Xavier patted him on the shoulder. “Where are y off to?”

Caleb was about to answer when Jorge walked over and asked bluntly, “The person you like… is Celeste?”
Caleb froze.
“Huh?” Xavier blinked in confusion. It took him a moment to understand what Jorge meant.
Then he laughed. “Jorge, you’re overthinking it. How could it possibly be—”
“Yes,” Caleb answered without hesitation.
Xavier completely froze. A moment later, his eyes widened in disbelief. “It’s her? H- How is that possible?”
Jorge said nothing.
When Caleb had rushed toward Celeste earlier, he’d already begun to suspect the truth. Even then, he’d convinced himself he was overthinking it.
After all, the fact that the woman Caleb liked was married should have ruled Celeste out entirely.
