Trevor had already congratulated her before. However, since he was acting as though he had only just learned that she had won an award, Celeste could only play along.
“Thank you.”
After that, they had no further interaction.
Celeste and Trevor’s group soon left separately.
Quentin felt more and more that perhaps their relationship was not as simple as he had previously thought after watching the way Celeste and Trevor interacted like strangers.
After they left, Jericho was just about to head back to his office upstairs when Quentin suddenly asked, “Did anyone from Fleming Group win an award this year?”
If someone from Fleming Group had won an award, then Trevor personally attending the ceremony would indeed be a good opportunity to promote Fleming Group. Otherwise…
“No,” Jericho replied.
Then he asked curiously, “Why do you ask?”
“Nothing. I was just curious.”
Celeste had only achieved what she had today by stepping on Wynn to rise to the top.
If there really was nothing between Trevor and Celeste, then, as Wynn’s boyfriend, Trevor should not have personally attended the awards ceremony unless it was absolutely necessary.
The awards ceremony was held on Saturday evening.
Celeste received a call from Jordyn on Friday afternoon.
“Mom, you’re also going on a business trip this weekend, right?”
Celeste was startled for a moment. “Yes.”
Then, she asked, “Did your dad tell you?”
Jordyn hummed a response that sounded a little downcast. “Mom, when will you be back then?”
“I should be home by Sunday afternoon.”
“Dad will be back by then too. I’ll go to the airport to pick you and Dad up. After that, can you accompany me to watch a movie that night?” Jordyn said.
Celeste and Trevor might not be on the same flight. And even if they were, they might not leave together.
However, Celeste didn’t mention any of that.
“It should be around the time everyone is off work when I get back. The traffic will be bad during rush hour How about we meet ate restaurant first? Then we can go watch the movie after dinner.”
Jordyn hesitated before answering, “Okay.”
Celeste chatted with Jordyn for a few more minutes before hanging up.
She left work early and went home to pack a few things before heading out.
When she arrived at the airport and was checking in, she happened to run into Trevor.
Both of them paused.
However, before either of them could react, someone patted her shoulder.
Celeste turned around and realized it was Kieran. She was slightly stunned. “Why are you here?”
Kieran smiled. “I wanted to witness you receiving your award in person.”
For a moment, Celeste didn’t know what to say. After a while, she finally replied, “Thank you.”
Standing not far away, Trevor glanced at the two of them. Then he smiled faintly and looked away.
Kieran naturally noticed Trevor as
well. He was also surprised when he
first saw him. But he quickly
ssed the reason behind Trevor’s
trip.
He glanced at Trevor before asking Celeste, “Is he going as the sponsor to present
awards to the winners?”
Celeste paused. “Probably.”
Kieran didn’t say anything else.
After boarding the plane, Celeste’s and Kieran’s seats were next to each other, while Trevor’s seat was right beside theirs across the aisle.
However, he didn’t exchange any words with the two of them throughout the flight.
The organizer had arranged for people to pick them up.
They had originally arranged for two separate cars to receive them, but one of the drivers had encountered some trouble on the way and was still stuck in traffic, unable to arrive in-time.
The person in charge asked, “May I ask if the two of you would mind sharing one car?”
