Jordyn was at the amusement park playing games.

After hanging up, she planned to call Celeste once she was done, but she got carried away and forgot. By the time she remembered, it was already past four in the afternoon.

She hurriedly called Celeste. “Mom, do you have time to have dinner together tonight?”

Celeste was still at Fleming Group, discussing data analysis with others.

Hearing this, she assumed Jordyn meant dinner just between the two of them.

Her eyes stayed on the screen as she answered casually, “Yes. Send me the address later. I’ll head over once I’m done with work.”

“Okay!”

Celeste said, “I’m still busy; I need to hang up first. We’ll talk tonight, alright?”

Jordyn had wanted to share her day with Celeste, but hearing that, she could only reply, “Okay. Bye, Mom.”

After hanging up, Celeste continued talking about work, completely unaware that several people present were left stunned by what they had just heard.

Seeing them, Celeste froze for a moment and almost immediately understood what

was going on.

She had thought Jordyn had called her on her own.

In an instant, her steps halted where she stood.
