Chapter 788
Wynn, Trevor, and Narcissa had already made their way to the area near the stage. So, they weren’t far from Celeste and Matthias.
It was just that Wynn hadn’t had a chance to speak. She hurriedly called out when she saw a chance, “Mr. Quentin—”
It was only then that Quentin turned toward her. And the moment he saw Wynn, his expression immediately softened. But when his gaze landed on Trevor standing beside her, a trace of coldness crept back into his eyes.
Seeing that Wynn wanted to interrupt, he assumed she simply didn’t want everything exposed at an occasion like this.
After all, this was Philip’s event.
But he simply felt sorry for her too sorry for her.
It was because she didn’t understand that if he didn’t stand up for her today, no one else would truly seek justice on her behalf.
The more he thought about it, the more determined he became. So, he just gave Wynn a subtle look, signaling for her to stay silent and leave everything to him.
Wynn’s face darkened. She was about to speak again when Narcissa stopped her in a low voice, “Wynn, let Quentin finish first. I don’t think this is necessarily a bad thing.”
Then she turned to Trevor. “Don’t you agree, Trevor?”
Even if Celeste and Matthias tried to retaliate by exposing Celeste’s past
relationship with Trevor, Celeste herself hadn’t gotten married by honorable means.
So, in Narcissa’s opinion, even if both sides aired all their dirty laundry, Wynn wouldn’t be the one who came out worse.
Wynn’s expression grew even uglier.
Before Trevor could answer Narcissa, Quentin spoke again, not giving Matthias a chance to get a word in.
“But, Mr. Yoder, if you’re really the person I always believed you were someone devoted to Al, someone who values fairness and cherishes talent-you never would have allowed someone to steal my junior’s place at YodaVision, then repeatedly sabotage her chances of becoming Mr. Newman’s student.
“Wouldn’t you agree?
“And since you just said you have a clear conscience, then I’m curious. When Mr. Newman took you in as his student did you ever honestly tell him how a certain someone got into YodaVision?”
After saying that, he turned to Celeste.
“You took someone else’s
opportunity to get into YodaVision. Then you prevented that same person from becoming Mr. Newmans student that way you alone could enjoy all the advantages of having both Mr. Yoder and Mr. Newman supporting you
“And now you’ve gotten exactly what you wanted. At every banquet lately, all I hear
is people praising you. Are you happy?
“You’ve stolen other people’s
opportunities over and over again.
You’ve taken away the life that
should have belonged to someone else. Don’t you ever feel guilty?”
His words caused another uproar.
The guests were stunned.
So, not only had Celeste gotten into YodaVision through questionable means, but she had also ruined Wynn’s chance to become Zachary’s student?
That way, Zachary would never learn how she’d entered YodaVision, and she could keep Matthias’s and Zachary’s guidance all to herself?
They had to admit Celeste’s scheming ran far deeper than they’d imagined.
Philip and Thomas were equally surprised. Neither of them had known any of this. Both instinctively looked toward Celeste and Matthias below the stage.
Despite everything Quentin had said, neither of them showed the slightest change in expression.
Matthias smiled faintly after hearing the last accusation. He glanced toward Wynn before lifting his eyes to Quentin onstage.
“So, is that what she told you? That the reason she never became my mentor’s student… was because we sabotaged her?”
