Miles didn’t know that Celeste had connections with people like Kael and Rowan. But he had heard about Celeste’s awards.
So, after seeing the news online, he couldn’t help tagging everyone in the group chat.
“Did you guys see what’s trending online? She’s actually this incredible now?” Everyone in the group, including Trevor, saw the message. But no one replied. However, a moment later, Wynn sent something.
She tagged Beck, “Narcissa has a project she’d like to discuss with you. Are you available?”
Beck replied a short while later after seeing the message. “Sure. Pass her my contacts and ask her to get in touch.”
Wynn replied, “Okay.”
After that, neither of them spoke again.
Miles immediately protested, “Is no one going to respond to me?”
Meanwhile, Beck had already received a call from Narcissa.
After listening to her, he said, “I’m actually quite interested in your project. However, I’ve been fairly occupied lately. So, I’ll probably need to arrange for someone to coordinate with you. I hope you don’t mind.”
Narcissa smiled. “Not at all. I trust the capabilities of your employees.”
“Thank you.”
After saying that, Beck quickly found an excuse to end the call.
Narcissa set her phone down and looked at Wynn, who was seated across from her, then laughed. “Am I really that scary?”
Wynn looked at her. “What do you mean?”
“Mr. Harper agreed to work with me, but he clearly has no intention of personally handling the discussions. The moment we finished talking, he didn’t even bother hiding the fact that he was making excuses to hang up.”
She raised a brow. “Is he worried I’ll latch onto him or something?”
Wynn fell silent for a moment.
Narcissa didn’t seem offended by Beck’s obvious avoidance. She was simply puzzled.
“No matter what, I’m still your friend. Since you and Trevor are so close to him, I thought he’d at least be a little more polite and friendly out of consideration for you guys, even if he suspected I might be interested in him.
“I didn’t expect him to be this cold.”
Wynn wasn’t surprised at all by Beck’s attitude. After all, Narcissa had been openly unfriendly in her attitude toward Celeste during the dinner they hosted for her previously.
Although Beck wasn’t really in a position to say anything at that time, Wynn knew it would be difficult for Beck to ever truly become friends with Narcissa.
Narcissa asked curiously, “Is he worried his crush might misunderstand things, so he doesn’t want to get too involved with me?”
Wynn replied lightly, “Maybe.”
Narcissa thought that it really wasn’t appropriate for Wynn and Beck to
have much contact in private since Wynn was Trevor’s girlfriend, and. Beck and Trevor were close friends. It also seemed that Wynn and Beck rarely contacted each other anyway.
That was why she didn’t continue asking after Wynn said she didn’t know.
Ever since Lincoln’s accident, Jordyn hadn’t had another chance to go out for a meal with Celeste and Trevor.

Trevor and Jordyn were already there by the time Celeste arrived at the restaurant.
After Celeste sat down, Trevor looked up at her. “I heard about the news online. Congratulations on your award.”
Celeste replied, “Thank you.”
