Lilian and Patricia had no idea that Trevor’s attitude toward Celeste had already changed.
Hearing that he had taken Celeste back to her room and still hadn’t come out after so long, they were a bit surprised at first, but quickly dismissed it.
After all, they’d heard long ago that even though Trevor and Celeste had been married for years, they barely ever shared a room.
He had absolutely no interest in her.
So, even if he stayed in her room a little longer this time, none of them thought anything would happen between them.
Besides, with how deep Trevor’s feelings were for Wynn, even if something did happen between him and Celeste tonight, Celeste still wouldn’t shake his love for Wynn.
If that was the case, then what was there to worry about?
Seeing that Jacob seemed to be thinking the same thing, they didn’t probe further into the matter between Trevor and Wynn.

The next morning, Celeste woke up and saw the messages Matthias had sent her.
It was only then that she learned what had happened the previous night.
She sat on the edge of the bed, trying to recall, but she had absolutely no impression of anything Matthias described.
What she did notice was that her whole body felt clean and fresh, her makeup had been removed, and she was already changed into comfortable sleepwear.
She replied to Matthias’s message.
Matthias, already awake, called her as soon as he saw her reply. “How are you feeling? Head hurting?”
Celeste rubbed her temples. “Just a little. Still manageable.”
“Good.”
After checking on her, he couldn’t help complaining, “What is Trevor doing? Even if he’s not around, we at YodaVision have plenty of people who can look after you. Why is he inserting himself into your business?
“Do you know that because he suddenly pulled that stunt last night, everyone almost thought I’d struck some shady deal with him using you as leverage?”
Celeste didn’t overthink it. Her voice was calm. “I’m Jo’s mother. He was probably just worried something raight happen to me. For Jo’s sake, he wanted to make sure I was safe.”
Matthias thought about it and agreed that this explanation made sense.
He snorted and chatted with her for a while before hanging up.

The team-building event continued until Sunday afternoon.
She didn’t see Trevor at all during these two days.
But as she left the hotel on Sunday afternoon, she ran into the Lockets and the Shaws.
They glanced at her and immediately looked away like she was invisible. Only Linda glared at her viciously before getting in the car.
Celeste ignored them and left.
She had just returned home when her phone rang.
It was Zachary.
At their previous dinner, he had mentioned that she would likely need to visit the military base this
month. She’d been waiting for the
notice for half a month now.
She didn’t expect the call to come right before her and Trevor’s divorce’s mandatory waiting period ended.
After learning that Zachary’s people were already on their way to the Rodriguez residence, Celeste sent Trevor a message.
“I’ll be leaving for a business trip
soon, and I probably won’t make it back until a few days after the mandatory waiting period ends. I contact you the moment return. Then we can go to the courthouse to
finalize the divorce.”
It took over half an hour before Trevor replied.
“Okay, got it.”
Looking at his message, Celeste didn’t reply. She simply put her phone back into
her pocket.
