Chapter 837
CodeFlux… In other words, Jorge’s company.
After Philip’s banquet, she and Jorge hadn’t seen each other again, nor had they been in contact. When she’d just learned that so many investors wanted to pull out, she’d wondered whether Jorge would also—
She asked, “What did CodeFlux say?”
“Mr. Robinson’s secretary said their company will send someone over later to discuss the details of the withdrawal with us.”
Send someone over…
It meant Jorge himself wouldn’t be coming. But in the past, Jorge had always handled these negotiations personally.
She came back to herself after a moment. “I understand.”
That afternoon, Wynn was so busy that she barely had time to catch her breath.
Harvey and the other family members had also learned about the wave of investors pulling out of Innova Tech.
Although InnovaTech was valued at several billion dollars, it hadn’t gone public yet. With so many investors withdrawing and its shares frozen, if the company couldn’t hold on, all of Innova Tech’s value would turn into nothing.
The money they’d invested after taking over InnovaTech would effectively be lost as well. And if InnovaTech became worthless, Locket Tech would have to shoulder the losses.
The amount Locket Tech would have to repay was something the entire Locket family couldn’t afford even if they sold everything they owned.
Harvey’s expression was grave. “Wynn, we can’t drag this out any longer.”
No matter what, they needed an answer from Trevor.
If Trevor truly intended to cut ties with them completely, they still had a chance to preserve as much as they could and minimize their losses. But if they waited any longer…
Wynn naturally understood.
Everyone in the Lockets and Shaws was deeply worried.
Just then, the sound of a car came from outside. Lilian and the others hurriedly got
to their feet when they heard it.
But before they even reached the door, Calvin walked in with his backpack. He didn’t notice that something was off about the atmosphere at home.
Seeing everyone there, he
immediately sounded a little annoyed. “Didn’t we agree that everyone would come to the airport
to pick me up
But only the driver
was there. I thought you were all
busy, but I didn’t expect everyone to be at home!”
After Calvin finished his college entrance examination, Lilian had enrolled him in an overseas training programme. During the training n

had happened to family during that time.
Before Calvin left the country, Harvey, Wynn, and the others had indeed promised to
pick him up from the airport themselves.
But Wynn had been so busy that afternoon that she could barely keep up with everything, while Harvey had other matters to deal with.
As for Lilian and the others, after someone had posted their photos online, they were worried about being recognized, so they’d barely gone out during this period.
That was why they’d simply sent a driver to pick him up.
Now, everyone was weighed down by worry. Even with Calvin’s return, no one could bring themselves to feel particularly happy.
Lilian walked over and said, “Your
sister and your dad have been especially busy lately, and they’ve
had a lot on their minds, so there
couldn’t go pick you up. I haven’t been feeling very well today either, so…”
Calvin knew how much his family cared about him, so he wasn’t genuinely angry in the first place. After hearing that they had all been busy, most of his irritation disappeared.
He immediately began worrying about Lilian instead. “Mom, what’s wrong? Are you feeling okay?”
“I’m fine. I’m feeling much better now. Everyone’s been waiting for you to have dinner. Come on, let’s eat first.”
“Okay.”
Everyone moved to the dining room and took their seats.
Then Calvin suddenly remembered something. He looked at Wynn and said with some dissatisfaction, “Wynn, I came home today. How come Trev didn’t come? Did he go on another business trip?”
Wynn and the rest of the family were stunned.
