Chapter 1799
[ 721 words ]
Lincoln understood the CEO’s underlying meaning perfectly.
If he didn’t move immediately, Bianca would inevitably come crawling back the moment things went south.
As for why Dane was so certain she’d be dumped soon, Lincoln didn’t need to ask.
Since Mr. Green knew Yanni personally, he obviously knew exactly what kind of trash the guy was.
Since Lincoln was heading overseas, he had planned on breaking the lease on his current apartment anyway.
But he had no idea what he was going to do with all his furniture and belongings.
Dane had just flawlessly eliminated his biggest logistical nightmare.
Lincoln swore to himself that he would remain fiercely loyal to Mr. Green for the rest of his life.
Moving in a little early wouldn’t hurt.
He scanned the blueprints and selected a corner-unit two-bedroom apartment.
There were actually three-bedroom options in the stack, but Lincoln didn’t feel he had earned that level of privilege yet, so he stuck with the smaller layout.
If he genuinely delivered massive results for the company in the future, he knew Mr. Green would take care of him.
“If you’ve picked one, go ahead and start moving. That unit was fully furnished six months ago.”
Lincoln was genuinely stunned. “Were you… were you holding this specifically for me the entire time?”
If he were a woman, he would have been so moved he’d demand to marry Mr. Green on the spot!
Hell, he would have gladly settled for being his mistress!
Wait, no. He was far too old for that. Mr. Green already had a nineteen-year-old fiancée.
He’d have to settle for being an elderly side piece.
Thinking about this, Lincoln actually reached up and touched his own face.
The boss definitely wouldn’t be interested. Lincoln wasn’t ugly, but Dane was practically a supermodel in comparison.
Whatever, it was better to just keep his head down and make the man more money.
Instead of letting his mind wander into absurd territory, he needed to focus on crushing his targets for Vertex International.
“It was originally supposed to be your wedding present.”
Dane didn’t bother sugarcoating it. “But I happened to discover that your fiancée was a terrible investment.”
She would have tainted his premium real estate.
If he had handed over the keys, they would have gotten married, Lincoln would have flown overseas, and that woman would have been sleeping with other men in an apartment paje for by Vertex International
That would have absolutely ruined the prestige of the company’s executive perks.
“Mr. Green, thank you so much!” Lincoln finally realized that last night’s dinner had been a meticulously orchestrated sting operation just for him.
Dane simply waved him off, signaling that he was dismissed.
Exactly as Dane had predicted, once Bianca was shoved into the cheap rental apartment, Yanni completely ghosted her.
It was as if she had ceased to exist.
Whenever Bianca managed to get him on the phone, he was completely dismissive.
It wasn’t until Bianca returned to campus and saw Yanni actively pursuing another
girl that she completely lost her mind.
She stormed over to confront him, and Yanni didn’t even bother pretending anymore.
Bianca was utterly stunned.
She finally realized she had been played for a fool.
Desperate, she tried to crawl back to Lincoln, but he was completely unreachable.
She tried to weaponize her potential pregnancy against Yanni, but Yanni literally couldn’t have cared less. He
carelessly wired her ten thousand dollars telling her it was for an
abortion and some recovery
supplements.
When she tried to leverage it further, he brutally shut her down.
“Who even knows if that kid is mine? Try pinning it on me again, and I
Sweak to God I’ll track down your
beloved senior and make him split the medical bill with me!”
Bianca’s face went deathly pale.
Yanni even knew Lincoln’s name? Did that mean he knew exactly who she was
dating the entire time they were hooking up?
“You knew I had a boyfriend! Why did you pursue me?”
Bianca was consumed by pure, venomous hatred!
“Didn’t you know you had a boyfriend when you kept playing hard to get with me?”
“Stop acting like you’re some innocent victim whose honor was stolen!” Yanni shot back with a sneer.
Yanni’s absolute ruthlessness felt like a physical blow.
A sharp, agonizing cramp seized Bianca’s stomach, and dark blood began pouring down her legs.
Yanni frowned in disgust. He was a piece of trash, sure, but he wasn’t going to literally watch someone bleed out on the sidewalk.
He dumped her at the nearest hospital-which, by sheer coincidence, happened to be the exact hospital Claire frequented.
