Chapter 186
Chapter 186:
Fernanda was different. Though she was reserved about her emotions, she communicated her feelings openly and honestly. Time with her was refreshingly simple and unpretentious for Cristian.
As he spoke, he started the car, and calming music began to play through the car’s speakers.
“I’ll drive you back to school,” Cristian said. “Don’t worry about my feelings. Just see me as a friend, no strings attached. I value you, and that’s why I treat you well p>
Fernanda felt a sense of turmoil stirred up inside her by Cristian’s words.
The details of how she got out of Cristian’s car and made her way back to her dorm room were hazy.
Only when Wendy frantically waved a hand in front of her did Fernanda return to the present moment.
“Why are you so out of it? I’ve been talking to you this whole time and you haven’t responded,” Wendy said, frowning.
“Let me ask you something,” Fernanda said, hugging a pillow and leaning against the headboard. “What’s it actually like to fall in love p>
“Wow, sounds like you need some love advice, huh?” Wendy teased.
Fernanda just stared at Wendy without words.
“Who is the lucky person?” Wendy asked. “Is it Bobby’s cousin p>
“It’s not that I’m particularly fond of him. Yet, he’s different from the others to me,” Fernanda explained.
She reflected on her past, filled with hard work and efforts to improve her and Hiram’s living conditions, which had left little room for romantic pursuits.
This lack of experience made Fernanda unsure about how to interact with guys, much less consider dating, which felt completely unfamiliar.

“To fall for someone means they never leave your thoughts. Their face is always in your mind. Your heart beats faster around them, and you feel shy. When they’re gone, you can’t wait to see them again. It’s like welcoming a new person into your life, and surprisingly, you enjoy their company,” Wendy explained, trying to make things clear for Fernanda, who was inexperienced in love.
Overwhelmed, Fernanda gazed at Wendy. Was that truly what love was like?
If so, she was certainly experiencing all those feelings!
A blush warmed her cheeks as her heart thudded with newfound realization.
“See, I was right, wasn’t I?” Wendy said with a knowing look. “You’ve definitely got feelings for him, haven’t you p>
“I’ll need more time to sort out my feelings,” Fernanda responded. She was in disbelief. Falling for Cristian so quickly felt unlikely, considering how little time they’d known each other.
