Chapter 197
Chapter 197:
Meanwhile, knowing Fernanda and Wendy were about to have breakfast, Sloane decided to join them.
Pausing in front of an eatery, Fernanda and Wendy turned to Sloane.
Looking over the eatery’s signage, Sloane suggested, “Let’s head inside p>
Compact in size, the eatery housed merely six tables. With the breakfast rush over, the place…
The place was relatively empty. They chose a table where Fernanda and Wendy sat together on one side, facing Sloane across from them.
Sloane’s attire made her look like a princess venturing out to explore life beyond the palace walls.
At the table, Fernanda and Wendy opted for pasta dishes, while Sloane selected a salad to avoid risking any sauce stains on her elegant dress. Meanwhile, Sloane was busy on her phone, texting Bonita the name of the place and inviting her to join them.
Twenty minutes passed before Bonita made her entrance.
Stopped at the doorway, Bonita gazed at Sloane’s outfit, her astonishment evident as she momentarily hesitated to enter. Only when Sloane gestured did Bonita slowly proceed to the table. Sitting down cautiously, she took great care not to disturb the fabric of Sloane’s dress.
Resting her chin in her palm, Sloane sighed. “Bonita, we’ve just heard something unsettling. Your crush has been assaulted and is currently hospitalized p>
At the revelation, Bonita’s face turned pale.
“Is that true?” she asked, her voice trembling. “He’s been attacked and is now in the hospital? How is he p>
“He’s stable now, but he took quite a beating,” Sloane replied with a sigh. “Aren’t you planning to visit him p>
Silently, Bonita slumped in her seat, deep in thought.
Observing her, Sloane sensed Bonita’s deep feelings for Neal.
It was clear she held genuine affection for him. Well, campus romances could be quite beautiful.
Noticing Bonita’s distress, Fernanda chimed in, “I’m heading to see Neal after we eat. You’re welcome to join me if you’re concerned p>
“Really?” Bonita’s demeanor brightened immediately. “Can I come along p>
“Absolutely. It’s always better to see for yourself rather than worry from afar,” Fernanda said. “You won’t feel at ease until you see him with your own eyes, will you p>
Bonita nodded earnestly, biting her lip.
Throughout the meal, Bonita’s focus seemed elsewhere; she hardly touched her pasta, her thoughts clearly preoccupied.
Wendy left after the meal, and Sloane decided to visit her brother instead. This left only Fernanda and Bonita to take a taxi to the hospital. Once at the hospital, they asked for Neal’s room number. After cautiously peeking inside, they found him asleep and decided not to wake him.
